Customer Reviews

Comments: I got the STX30 pretty recently & compared it to my Pflueger President to see what all the hubbub about the cardinal reels was about. There isn't even a contest, the President blows this thing out of the water. After about 4 casts the handle of the STX starts to come loose & you have to tighten it up every few casts & maybe I'm spoiled but the President is SO much smoother on the retrieve, it feels like I'm stirring a nice chicken broth, but with the STX it's more of a beef stew with lots of potatoes. Take what you want from that but this reel is only ever going to be a backup reel in my mind.

Comments: This is by far the best spinning reel for the money. I paid $50 for it at bass pro the other day and paired it up with a 7ft medium heavy berkley cherry wood rod. Its what I plan on using as my finnesse rod and such.I took it out the other day and casted a weightless wacky worm about 50 yards with out really trying. Trust me this reel is worth it!

Comments: this real is OK smooth drag and light, cast nicely but after a year of using it its wearing bad the tiny wire clicker in the spool for the drag broke had to have it fixed. the drag started sliping and had to replace the carbon fiber washers that wore out bad. I'm still using this reel but I'm looking to get an upgrade. It served its purpose & caught me a heck of a lot of bass.

Comments: I like this reel, no problems with it whatsoever. Great for spinners and jigs. I think this is the best reel money can get at this price range. Sure, shimano could be better but costs 5-times more(thinking stradix). Recomend!

Comments: This is a pretty good reel. I have had it for a season now, and never had a problem with it. The only negative thing I would say about this reel, is that the plastic cosmetic pieces become worn and do not look as nice. This complaint is purely cosmetic and does not effect the performance. What happens is the silver paint that covers the plastic wear off. Plastic is fine just looks rough. I love the Cardinal reels and keep buying them as needed. This year is the first for the STX.
