Comments: This is a good reel. Like most lower end reels, they just don't get put together to well sometimes. The anti reverse issue everyone is having is easily repaired by a reel guy, other than that I've had no issues out of mine and have had it for several years and have fished it HARD.

Comments: Submitted previous feedback that this casts great, on par with my Pfluegers. It did. For about 3 months. The brakes have failed completely and it just isn't adjustable or manageable anymore. Works good for 10 or 15 casts and then the brakes will let go half way through a cast.

Comments: worst reel ever!!!! problem after problem. first started not winding randomly, then line despenser started jamming and wouldn't move from side to side causing it to pile up, then the drag wouldn't adjust so i had to push on the line hard to keep it from stripping off.
Comments: Bought one of these and the anti-reverse blew out within the first month. Starting to think there are no "good" reels under $150. Trust me I've tried a bunch of them!

Comments: My first Abu Garcia. Surprised with the smooth brakes and casting distances. Easily on par with my Pflueger President's, especially in the wind. If this holds up for a full season of fishing it will be an outstanding value for the price.

Comments: Have 2 of them, worked great for about 2 seasons and took a beating. Did some maintenance on them and they are still hanging in there. One handle got bent from a battery falling over on it, and one the handle spins backwards on it...Had the same problem with a Black Max. Took it apart, cleaned and lubed it but still had the problem. I also have 2 Revos, I think I would just spend a little extra money and upgrade depending on your fishing frequency...

Comments:If properly maintained this is an excellent reel for the money. I have one on my finesse rod and it throws small shakey head and texas/weightless rigs wonderfully.
Comments:I was given one of the Pro Max reels for Christmas last year and another this year. I love these reels. They are smooth, light, quiet, and reliable. No problem with any lures. I use one for weightless plastics and one for light shallow cranks. I can't believe that these don't sell for more.

Comments:I have several of these, and couldn't be happier with them. Great casting, smooth retrieves, a good drag, and an effective braking system are all standard, and the new levelwind system lays the line on the spool at more of an angle. That seems like a small thing, but it plays a big part in the reel's performance. I think you'll be well pleased with this reel, especially when you realize that they're way, way, way underpriced.
