The Airrus Ultra XL Spinning Rods offer a level of versatility previously unobtainable with a single rod. Equipped with two Interchangeable Split-Grip Butt Sections of varying lengths, each Ultra XL Spinning Rod can be configured in three different ways; long handle, short handle and no handle. The longer butt section provides great two-handed casting and improved leverage, while the shorter handle is perfect for light line or finesse fishing, and even with no handle, the rod functions as a solid pistol grip setup. Airrus Rods has been at the forefront of pioneering innovation in rod design and construction, as evidenced by their three ICAST "Best of Show" Awards in the Rod Category. The Ultra XL Spinning Rods deliver quality and craftsmanship typically found in custom rods at a much higher prices.

The blank construction of Ultra XL integrates two completely separate and unique manufacturing processes, creating a rod that has both superior sensitivity and plenty of backbone. Filament winding, used at the base of the rod, provides enhanced power and accounts for the base of the blank's larger diameter, while a proprietary multi-modulus tip configuration is designed to deliver optimal sensitivity and great lure presentation. The combination of a Super-Exposed Reel Seat and absence of a foregrip maximizes the sensitivity emanating into the angler's hands by delivering unprecedented access to the blank. Super hard, light-weight Guides with TiCH Inserts and Frames at "concept" spacing also compliment the rods's characteristics, providing an efficient use of the rod's sensitivity and power – with no more cracked ceramics or inserts falling out.

Designed with the serious angler in mind, Airrus's attention-to-detail never wavered, down to the ULTRA XL's smooth cherry red paint job and Thermalon Grips (re-engineered Hypalon – which in addition to ergonomic comfort, actually trap heat, keeping your hands warm on cold mornings).
