Overview
While many big bait rods tend to be heavy, stiff and more like broom sticks, Airrus developed the Airrus Wrestle Heavy Duty Casting Rods to perform like the high performance rods anglers typically use for standard baits. Airrus used advanced radial matrix and multi-modulus technology, which features different modules of carbon fiber in different parts of the blank. This allows you to precisely feel the action of the lure or subtle bites in deep water, and the rods still deliver the power you need to cast and set the hook with big baits. The reaction times of the blanks are very low as well, allowing you to react faster on topwater bites or cast your 8” swimbait further with maximum precision.
Airrus also painstakingly tested and refined each rod to make sure it is perfectly balanced for maximum comfort, reduced fatigue and improved sensitivity. Premium Kigan Stainless Steel SiC Guides in a smaller size compared to normal heavy duty rods also help reduce weight, while providing serious toughness and versatility. Advanced, powerful and sleek looking rods, the Airrus Wrestle Heavy Duty Casting Rods are perfect for your big swimbaits and topwaters, umbrella rigs and even Musky and Stripers.

Comments: I bought the 2-8 ounce version, I've got a good full year under the rod, including a 46-48" musky caught on the figure 8, meaning a very high stress scenario for the rod. I've also thrown the savage gear line through 3d 12" trout, which I believe is 10oz or so, meaning out of the recommended range of the rod. When they note they didn't want to create a pool cue scenario as you can have with many stiffer rods, they were right, it's a rod, though a bit bulky, that maintains a relatively sensitive tip, including me throwing a spro bbz 30 sized rat with it, I believe a 1/2oz lure. Didn't excel in that situation, but worked fine, again, outside its range, I still felt the thud of that little lure. Now, when they talk about maintaining the backbone and the strength of the rod, they were right, a 46-48" musky hitting boatside on the 8, is a ferocious 30lb or so attack, it causes a lot of stress on the rod. The lure I was using was a chandelier rig (shanes baits blades of glory with 16 total willow blades on it) followed by a mattlures strong bass in striper (2 1/4'ish oz hardbody swimbait). That's also a big, high drag bait combination. Testing conditions, it truly performed flawlessly and maneuvered the musky perfectly. It casted and retrieved that 10oz savage gear trout just fine as well. Bottom line, it has done as advertised, absolutely no regrets, in what for me, was an unknown rod company.
