Its ten ABEC stainless steel ball bearings housed inside a newly designed low-profile 413 Cast Aluminum Frame offer consistently fluid casts and retrieves, and a Helical Aircraft Aluminum Drive Gear offers more reliable functioning, and helps generate the reel’s blazing fast gear ratios of 6.5:1 and 7.2:1.
The Tour’s super smooth Carbon/Smoothie Double Drag System also features a patent-pending “Drag Tracking Technology” system, which allows the levelwind eyelet to track parallel with the line location on the spool as line is being pulled from the reel in drag mode. This greatly reduces the chance of line breaks by eliminating the sharp angles caused by the levelwind eyelet being out of sync with the line location on the spool. Comments: Never owned a Ardent until the other day when I bought a Edge Tour. Its a good reel, but not as smooth as I had hoped. I may have just got a lemon I dont know, but I will be sticking with my Abu's.
