Delivering durable, American-made performance, the Ardent Edge Tournament Casting Reels offer one of the best values in the new Edge series of reels. Available in both 6.5:1 and 7.2:1 gear ratios, its Helical Aircraft Aluminum Drive Gear offers super fast retrieve capabilities and plenty of winding power, while six ABEC Stainless Steel Ball Bearings keep things running smoothly. Its low-profile 413 Cast Aluminum Frame also furnishes all-day fishing comfort and a sturdy base of operations, and a 6-pin Centrifugal Brake System delivers complete cast control.
The patent-pending “Drag Tracking Technology” system on the new Ardent Edge Reels also allows the levelwind eyelet to track parallel with the line location on the spool as line is being pulled from the reel in drag mode. This eliminates the sharp angles caused by the levelwind eyelet being out of sync with the line location on the spool, greatly reducing the chance of line breaks. Available in both left and right hand models, the Ardent Edge Tournament Casting Reels are the most affordable reels in the new Ardent Edge Series of reels.

Customer Reviews Back to Top
Comments: THE GOOD: it oozes power, its durable and rugged as hell, it casts good, its sexy, the multi-year warranty and of course; the country of origin. THE BAD: not the smoothest reel ever. THE OVERALL: although its not super smooth, its still a beast. it excels in all the qualities of a good reel. get it.

Comments: This reel is trash. You know what is sad. I want to buy American so bad, but they didn't do a good job with this reel. It is not smooth, it doesn't cast great and it's not really a cheap reel costing 150 bucks. Buy lews, there is truly nothing like them. I don't know what they do different, but I have yet to hold or use a reel like it. I have owned every reel just about and lews is just incredible.

Comments: Honest review - no bias. THE GOOD - the aluminum construction feels solid like it'll last forever with the proper care and maintenance. The worm shaft is designed so that the opening faces down to avoid collecting debris that would cause the worm gears to malfunction. I love that idea. Casts are smooth - they don't cast any farther than other baitcast reels in their price range. THE BAD - the eyelet sits inside a piece of aluminum which is tapered to be smooth in the front, but they left the back side of the eyelet that looks back towards the spool with sharp edges which will cut your line or chafe it and weaken your line. I know it says that it has "Drag Tracking Technology" but it's probably because they designed the levelwind eyelet wrong and needed this extra feature to help the reel sell. If you backlash, your line rubs against the sharp part of the eyelet for sure and you can basically cut your line at that point because a good fish will break it after that. Lost three big bass because the eyelet kept cutting my line. I don't think TackleWarehouse will replace my line. Also, after one day of use, my 20lb braid already started cutting into the plastic in the eyelet which tells me that the eyelet is made of low quality material. THE UGLY - let's face it. The reel is ugly.

Comments: This is a great reel. It palms great, the weight is just right, and it casts very well. Ardent really paid attention to the public when they created the Edge series. I can't wait to get another.

Comments: AMERICAN MADE enough said...But I will continue I paired this reel TMT-6R-A with a Lamiglas 705glass and wow is all i can say the reel is adjustable enough to throw shad rap 7 to red eye shad very easily. The drag is great.
