BasStar Dredger Crankbait - $12.99

BasStar introduces the world's first infinite-diving crankbait with the BasStar Dredger. The Dredger is different from other deep-diving crankbaits in its ability to dive straight down to any depth. The Dredger has a fall rate equivalent to that of a jig, which means you can now throw this bait next to boat docks and pilings and watch the bait fall perfectly parallel to its target. The Dredger has been known to produce a lot of bites anywhere from 40 to 60 feet, and up to 100+ feet.

BasStar was able to perfectly balance the bait both internally and externally, so it dives straight down with no spiraling or line twists. Once the Dredger reaches the desired depth, the bait will stand straight up, keeping the hooks away from the bottom and reducing chances of hang ups. Unlike traditional crankbaits that typically only reach their targeted depth zone for a short period of time, the Dredger dives directly to its target depth and stays in the zone for the full retrieve. The BasStar Dredger is also equipped with a rotating hook system for both the belly and tail hooks. This system limits the fish leveraging the hook against the bait and increases your hook up ratio. Comments:  The concept is ideal for fishing deep water.  However, I was not impressed with the overall performance of the bait.  The hooks tangle on the line on long casts and the bait does not seem to wobble as much as I expected. I bought 4 of them and used them for quite some time before giving up.  If they could make them using tungsten, that would be a big improvement. Given my experience thus far, I would certainly say that the bait does not support the $12.99 price point.

Comments: Was an ok lure however the glue holding the front led weight couldve looked better, and it should be tungsten just to make it smaller, other than that the lure casted great and dug alot, until i bird nested my baitcaster and it snapped off during a cast!!
