Overview

Typically, when exploring deep water with plugs, an oversized crankbait is the only option, but with the Berkley Dredger 10.5 Crankbait anglers now have the ability to downsize their profile and still reach the depths needed to get that big bite. Engineered with a custom body shape and a weighted bill, the Berkley Dredger 10.5 Crankbait descends quickly and stays in the strike zone longer, so anglers get the most possible attraction out of every cast.

And because it is smaller than most deep diving crankbaits, the Berkley Dredger 10.5 Crankbait generates less resistance, which means less fatigue throughout a full day of chucking-and-winding. Built to produce a tight, subtle action, the Berkley Dredger Crankbaits offer a slow rise on the pause, tempting fish throughout all stages of the retrieve. Offered in a number of rod-bending colors, the Berkley Dredger 10.5 Crankbaits provide a smaller, less labor-intensive approach to fishing deep water.

Comments: This bait used with the 9'0 Lew's David Fritts cranking rod is a Golden nugget. If you want to get a crank bait down to depths nobody has ever put a crank bait, this set up will do it. The 9ft Lew's cranking rod paired with durable but light line, and a deep diving crank bait like the Berkley Dredger will get to fish that are pressured by jigs and plastic worms. Get your crank bait to fish that are not pressured by other anglers that are also cranking.

Comments: These things suspend like no other. Livescope, being the great tool that it is shows me that buoyant crankbaits scare following fish away. When I have fish following other brands of cranks and stop it, the fish is immediately turned off as the plug floats back and up. When I stop the Dredger, it gets walloped due to its neutral suspending action. The Dredgers are one of the best plugs on the market in my opinion as it is smaller than most others that dive comparable depths. It also does not blow out at high speeds and the larger deeper divers cause less fatigue when cranking to 18+ feet. And the 25.5 is legit.....you just need a rod to handle it. On 12# fluoro, that thing gets down to 28/29 feet deep on a long cast. They get to their depth quick also. The hooks are great out of the package too. The Dredger is one of my favorite plugs to crank.

Comments: I have purchased 8.5, 10.5 and 14.5 in blue chartreuse, homer and chameleon pearl 4 of each size and color. I fish in Central Florida and use them to target Bass that are hanging in and above submerged hydrilla offshore. These baits are by far the best producing crankbaits year around. I use them to fast crank and when the fish are lethargic I will use them like a suspending jerkbait. We have several clearwater lakes that are spring fed and extremely clear, this is where these baits shine. Smaller profile than other baits of the same depth and tighter wiggle combined with suspending makes them my go to for crankbaits!

Comments: I’ve used the Berkley Dredger 8.5’s on numerous Crappie Charters and simply put they work and they catch fish! You won’t be disappointed with these lures!

From: Chris: Lake of the Ozarks, MO 10/01/21

Comments: i've caught alot of fish using these baits over the last 3 years. they work on big lakes and small lakes. the only problem i've found is they are hard to find in stock. Old blue is my favorite. someone need to stock alot of the 25.5 series. happy fishing.

Comments: Amazing crank. I bought a 14.5 and a 25.5 to try out, not expecting much, but I had a hard time putting the 25.5 down. The bodies are way, way smaller than anything I have seen in the 20+ Category. I also noticed the 25.5 wiggles through brush piles much better than dd22s or Xd's. I'm throwing the 25.5 in water as shallow as 16ft and as deep as 24ft. Perfect 10 from me

Comments: I had great luck with the green gill first time out with it. The water was cold and bite was tough. Caught a nice small mouth. Love the paint and looks of it. But the next time out. It begin to sink with out even cranking it in. And the action got goofy. Not sure what the deal is. I like them enough to try it again. May just be a fluke! Plan on getting another a try!

From: Chris: Coshocton, OH 2/4/20

Comments: i bought the 14.5 in chameleon pearl, nice looking bait.  interestingly, what the site doesn't show is a subtle chartreuse like color hue along the belly of this crankbait, which i think is a cool touch, especially for spots.

From: Ron: Northern California 5/29/18

Comments: Quality bait with a nice tight wiggle. They do catch fish and colors aren't bad either. As far as losing 6 in 6 cast, I'm betting the ceramic is cracked in on one of the guides. Even the worst knot would hold up better than a 100% break rate under minimal load.

From: Mark: Roanoke VA 5/14/18

Comments: My favorite line of crankbaits. They run true with a tight action and to the advertised depths on 12 lb mono. They reach those depths aggressive and stay there . Lots of fish hit  close to the boat. I caught fish on all 5 sizes [ the 8.5 wasnt out yet]. Several keepers came  from 20 to 25 foot, thats the deepest  I ever caught fish on diving baits .

From: Dane - 12/30/17

Comments: To the guy below: if you lost six.... SIX FREAKING LURES!!!! On your CAST... it has nothing to do with the lure. You can't tie a knot. As far as the lure goes:  The 10.5 is my new favorite crank for shallow cranking. Cast great, and gets deep quick. The stock hooks on these are super sharp and are strong. Haven't had them straighten out. Even the small ones equipped on the 10.5. And, for the most part, these baits run pretty straight right out of the packaging.

From: Unknown: Florida 12/27/17

Comments: Love these, they run deeper than any other crankbait for their small size, and also cast better. They also cast at least 20% farther than the Strike King XD series. They have a more subtle action, but that's often what's needed in tough conditions. Load up on all sizes of these.

From: Tyler Grand Junction, CO 12/8/17

Comments: The 25.5 is good for deep smallmouth (and largemouth). The guy losing 6 of 6 is possibly tying too close to the break in the split ring, and really whip-casting the lure.  No fault of the lure.

From: Andy - Lake Andes 12/4/17

Comments: The guy 3 reviews down needs to learn how to tie a proper knot.  What are the odds of losing 6 baits on 6 casts?  That's user error, not faulty lures.  I've been using these dredgers for a while now and have nothing but praise for them.  They are smaller than other baits that dive to same depths, so I feel more confident using these when the bite is tough.  They get down to depth in a hurry, plus the hooks are outstanding.  I do wish they were available in semi-translucent colors similar to ghost minnow (LuckyCraft) or blue gizzard shad (StrikeKing).  Overall a great bait.

From: BassF3arMe: IN 10/5/17

Comments: gets loads of bites but sadly hook up ratio is poor

From: Conner: Greene, NY United States 9/26/17

Comments: These crankbaits flat out catch fish. I used to use the strike King 6 and 8xds, but after trying this bait, I've hooked. These ones dive deeper faster, have a tighter wobble, and cast farther. I wish there were more colors available but whatever. Overall a solid bait.

From: Mason: Jordan, MN 9/14/17

Comments: I bought 6 of these and every time I casted them, they broke off. 6 casts and 6 dredgers gone. This is a big problem.

From: James: Diesel 9/13/17

Comments: bought the dredger 1 week ago. probably luck but I caught a 9.52 lb largemouth on the second cast! this crank bait runs true and has excellent hooks.I was surprised it did not run as deep as I thought. I have the 17.5 and with 12 lb fluro seemed to run about 8 feet?? It also casts like a bullet. Perhaps on lighter line it will run much deeper?!

From: kap: walnut creek,CA 7/7/17

Comments: These crankbaits work fairly well. They dive and stay down and the hooks are decent. You can definitely feel the vibration of this bait running and I caught several fish in 20-24 ft of water.

From: Korey: Snellville, GA 6/13/17

Comments: The dredger crankbaits are some of my new favorites. They haven't been out to long but they do catch fish. They are easy to tune and due to the weight in the lip they dive quickly.
