Overview

Designed by the 2015 Bassmaster Classic winner himself, Casey Ashley, the Blakemore Casey's Classic Runner Head is the bait Casey used to claim the 2015 Bassmaster Classic title on Lake Hartwell, which turned out to be one of the coldest and most grueling Classics in the 45-year history of the tournament. While most of the field struggled to catch a solid limit, Ashley used a homemade version of the Blakemore Casey's Classic Runner Head paired with a Zoom Super Fluke Jr to catch healthy bags each day and take home the victory on his home lake.

The Blakemore Casey's Classic Runner Heads features a pony head design with a willow bade attached by a premium swivel directly below the head. Thanks to the premium swivel, the blade keeps turning no matter how slow you retrieve it. And the slow retrieve was the key for Ashley in getting his bites. The Classic Runner Heads also feature premium powder coated finishes, as well as, prism eyes and premium super sharp hooks. Available in a range of proven colors handpicked by Casey Ashley, the Blakemore Casey's Classic Runner Heads have arrived.

Comments: one of the finest walleye lures i have ever fished will admit to changing the blade on the lemon shad to a gold plate of the same size and fished with live crawler. i fish mainly in canada in clear water with this combo and have landed several large walleyes 8 to 12 lbs. also deadly on big smallmouth . i have fished the pearl with silver blade in reservoirs for saugeye with good success. i have bought the local cabelas out of these two colors. keep up the good work

Comments: Got these in a mystery tackle box and I have to say I love these things! I think the people that are having problems with the blade not turning are using to big of a swim bait but I do think the bait keeper could be better on these because after one fish my bait wouldn't hold onto it

From: Dylan: Fresno CA 4/28/19

Comments: The underspin blade does not spin no matter how fast or slow you retrieve. They are unfortunately garbage they came with a lucky tackle box monthly subscription. I can't believe he would put his name on these things it's embarrassing, he definitely did not use these.

From: Unknonwn: Philadelphia PA  2/21/19

Comments: Try gluing the split ring going to the swivel down at "6 o'clock" on the jig head eyelet  to create a wider gap between the willow  blade and soft plastic  - ditto for using glue on the jig head shank to hold your soft plastic in place . You could also switch to a one size smaller willow blade to help create a wider gap between willow blade and soft plastic.

Comments: These things are absolute garbage. I used them out on my local lake, and faced many problems; but to name a few, One being the keeper on these things is terrible it couldn't keep anything up on the head after a long cast i would reel it in to see the bait all mangled on the head, second being the problem everyone else is facing with these things the blade won't even spin, like what is the point of an "Underspin" if the blade won't even turn, third being the paint on the head chips off very easily as well. To give these a rating out of 10 it would have to be probably a 1/10 or a 2/10, these are a complete waist of money, as well as they were crafted terribly.GARBAGE

Comments: TRASH. blades don't even spin. Doesn't matter how fast or slow you fish it or what trailer you use it with. Worst underspin made. Buy another brand. I don't usually throw away baits, but this is one that's going fishing at the DUMP.

From: Jeremiah: Atlanta, GA 1/7/18

Comments: The blade will not spin, it lays flat against the belly of the fluke jr & will not spin.

From: Robert: Ooltewah, TN 8/16/16

Comments: These are NOT the ones Casey Ashley used. I bought a pile of these in 3/8 ounce & the piece that attaches to the blade is angled inward. The fluke jr's that he used rubs the blade & it will only spin 1/3 times! It is also sketchy that all of the other reviews saying this were removed. I contacted Blakemore & Casey Ashley on email to explain they messed up & never got a response. Go with the Randy's Swim'n Runner if anything. At least the blade stays away from the bait!
