The new ones are the terribleI’ve had 2 of these for quite some time, ordered a new one to replace a worn out one. The new version stinks… seems like they’ve changed the measurements a bit so they don’t fit ling rods as well, they changed the way the rod strap locates and it’s easy to drop it in the dark now. It all works, but wish they’d go back to the old design.

Comments: After owning this for about 3 years I can honestly say I've put In The time needed to finally review it. This really is name appropriate as the mule. When I make long walks to my fishing spots in the days of past three rods was brutal. Now with the mule I can carry 8 rods with me and it's easy on my shoulder. Even when I head to the river carrying 4 8ft rods with 2-4 oz weights is a breeze!! Highly recommend this.

Comments: Overall, I would give it a 4/5 stars. My only wish is that it covered the rod handles and kept them from getting dirty. It's compact and it should fit 10 rods like it says. I have only put 8 Dobyns Rods in it at once so far ranging from 7' to 7'6" and I think I could squeeze two more in if I really needed to. I would be a little worried if I were trying to stick a lot of spinning rods in it at once with the bigger guides, as all mine were casting rods and they fit pretty good. One thing I like about it, is that you can basically unbuckle the handle strap and just slide whatever rod you want out of the rod sleeve while leaving the leave in place in the rod mule and when you're done with the rod, you just slide in back into the sleeve. I did have a problem with a button on one of the straps but I contacted Cal Coast and they responded very quickly and sent me a replacement strap out the next day with a free decal included, so I would say their Customer Service is excellent. I do have another bag that carries 5 rods that I can compare it too that I paid $15 for and that bag protects the handles and has a lot of extra storage on it for gear, but also isn't as compact or as easy to pull a rod out and put it back like the Rod Mule. I can see them both have their uses, because I have a lot of expensive cork handles on my Dobyns Xtasy Rods and if it's muddy, I might not want to use the Rod Mule. I kayak and bank fish, so the Rod Mule should come in handy in both situations. I used to have cheap rods and could just throw them in the kayak when transporting it, but now that I upgraded, I will have to carry them separately and the Rod Mule will make it easier and it takes up very little space to store. As for bank fishing, it will be nice to transport in my truck and carry to the water and between different spots. It's nice to have multiple rods with different baits tied on, so you can spend more time fishing, rather than switching baits. And, a lot of time if I can park close enough to the water, I will just leave it in my truck and keep coming back and switching rods so I can walk light.

Comments: I own two. The best thing is the safety for your rod tips and the ends of your rods. You hit them putting them in you car , boat or even carrying them around your house. Even work excellent for storage put a hook or two you can hang them safely on you wall or roof of your garage all in the rod mule. You will always be ready to travel. Buy one or two you won’t be disappointed plus they will be coming out with a saltwater type that holds just as many rods but will adjust to hold 7-11 ft rods.

Comments: When I first got the Rod Mule I was skeptical thinking I wouldn't use it much especially because I'm a boater but. ... I now use it for seminars, when I'm going in a friends boat, going to a tournament or anytime I need to bring extra rods along. If you're hauling rods anywhere except your rod locker the Rod Mule is the ticket, it fits about 6-8 rods with rod sleeves, it has two upper straps and one lower strap that hold the rods securely. If you're a non boater the Rod Mule is the one thing tool that will keep you organized.

Comments: Ordered the the Rode mule a few months ago because I have a Skeeter fish and ski boat. I don't have rod locker in my boat. The rod mule made it easy to transport my rods from the truck to the boat. I highly recommend this product if you need a easy way to transport rods.

Comments: The Rod Mule is literally the best thing since sliced bread for anyone who transports their rods on a regular basis! This makes it so much easier to carry my rods, it allows me to carry them hands free so I can carry other items for a day of fishing. During a tournament I use it as my rod locker as I fish as a Co-Angler. It allows me to spend a lot more time fishing because I don't have spend time getting my rods untangled. Awesome product and I am very thankful to have one

Comments: Perfect product.  I have fit 11 rods in this thing.   Great for bank fishing or as a co-angler.

From: Paul: Belcamp, MD 7/23/18

Comments: Couldn't be happier with this product. Previous reviews are spot on. Took 2min to figure out and get on rods. Carting rods around is no longer a hassle. Can easily fit 9-10 rods in this maybe more. Only regret is I didn't buy this sooner

Comments: This is the most innovative and versatile products on the market for rod storage and organization. A must have for any co-angler, bank angler or anyone just sharing a fun day of fishing on a buddy's boat. It is light weight and very compact when storing it while not in use. The high quality construction makes it very durable for years of use. #therodmule. A must have for any anglers #tacklemanagement system.

Comments: This makes my life a hundred times easier as a Co-Angler.  Being able to carry all my rods at once, and knowing they are protected.  Seriously a must have as a boater also, even use it for my saltwater rods

From: Pat: Concord, CA, 9/12/17

Comments: The best way to carry my rods from point A to point B! The rod Mule makes my buddies jealous when they see me using it and I love it! Less trips from the garage to the house and safer by far!! Fully adjustable too which makes it even better again than anything I've ever tried to use!
