Castaway decided on the name Skeleton for the Castaway Skeleton Crankbait Casting Rods because of the rod series' split grip design, which Castaway developed to cut away every gram of excess weight without affecting the rods' performance or action. Castaway actually went as far as to further modify the rod's handle design in order to utilize less cork and reduce glue. All this in an effort to further limit weight and increase sensitivity.

Each Castaway Skeleton Crankbait Casting Rod also features a patent-pending, super-exposed reel seat, putting you in contact with more of the rod blank and allowing you to feel every bump and tick of your line. Spanning the Skeleton's exclusive multi-modulus graphite (or composite) blank, the premium Alconite Guide System increases castability and reduces friction, while also delivering the strength and durability to help tame hard fighting fish. Make now bones about it, the Castaway Skeleton Crankbait Casting Rods deliver key innovations that yield excellent lightweight performance for a variety of bass fishing techniques.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Decent rod, not the lightest or most sensitive but plenty of backbone.  I purchased it to handle medium to deep divers, should handle that no problem, very comparable to mojo bass rod but lighter.  If you want light, get a carrot stix, GL2 or Helium.
