Designed specifically for crankbait applications, the affordable Daiwa Exceler Crankbait Casting Reel is packed with Dawia's legendary performance and features. The higher torque and power generated by the reel's 4.9:1 gear ratio greatly reduces arm fatigue - allowing the reel to act more as a winch and handle more of the work. The slower speed created by the gear ratio also helps your crankbait perform properly - and keep it in the strike zone longer to entice more strikes.
A rigid one-piece aluminum frame is precision engineered to holds all critical components in perfect alignment, while 8-ball bearings and a lightweight Free-Floating Aluminum Spool ensure smooth functioning. Also delivering the long casting capability important when fishing crankbaits, the reel's Magforce-Z magnetic breaking system allows you to make precise casting adjustments on the fly and avoid backlashes. A solid reel for a great price, the Daiwa Exceler Crankbait Casting Reel has all of the features and performance you need to fish crankbaits effectively - without wearing yourself out - or your wallet.

Comments: This reel lasted about 200 casts and began to squeel while cranking. I took it apart and cleaned it. The grease inside was (BLACK?) I reassembled, oiled and greased. It lasted about 50 casts and began to squeel again. I am very disappointed in Diawa again. Well never again. I bought a revo for $30 more. What a difference.

From: Big John: Stafford, VA
Comments: great reel for larger crankbaits. i throw crankbaits that dive anywhere from 10 to 17 feet deep and i can throw them all day on this reel. ratio is a little to slow for smaller cranbaits.
From: Matt: Mufreesboro, TN
Comments: Eddie, try tightening the bearing cap. That should keep the spool from jiggling around and allowing the line to get caught up.
From: Josh: Missouri, USA
Comments: I had problems with 10lb. test flouro getting between spool and frame. Other than that, they cast and retrieve well.
