From: Winston: IL

Comments: NO GOOD, Broke the Twitching bar in 2 hours of 1st use, after 1 day  tournament, bearings - gears making loud noises & grinding not a good reel at all i should of spent more for a Shimano or AbuGarcia

From: Brian: Middletown, NY

Comments: I love this real it is awesome it's great for casting and the twitching bar is a very cool feature buy this if you can because it's very rare to have a 7:2:1 ratio for that cheap

From: Corey: USA

Comments: well this is the 3rd hard day of fishin it reading other comments and wonderind how the 23rd hard day will be. so far so good tho feels great and works great dont use the twitchin bar much but landed 2 8 to 10 lb drum while bass fishing without any problems whatsoever hopefully i got a good one we'll see

From: Walt: Mineral Wells, WV

Comments: The guy below is right. The gears in this thing are insanely loud. It is almost comical.

From: Joe: Mass

Comments: This reel was the first Daiwa I ever purchased.  It will also be the last Daiwa I ever purchase.  It lasted about 3 fishing trips before the gears engaged in mid-cast, making a horrible grinding noise that could be heard for about 100 yards in every direction.  It would only do it occasionally, but after about 4 months, I contacted Daiwa customer service.  I sent it in for repair.  They sent me a brand new one back.  ON THE SECOND FISHING TRIP THIS NEW ONE DID THE SAME EXACT THING!  So, it's not a one-off defect... there's a huge quality issue with these reels.  I don't even want to try to resell it to get some of my money back, because I'm afraid whoever bought it would think I was trying to rip them off by selling them a bad reel... the new reel is only a couple of months old.  I'll stick to my Black Max's, Revo's and Curado's from now on.

From: John: Beaumont, TX

Comments: DONT BUY IT! spend $150-$300 on the higher end daiwa.

From: Joe: Cen Cal

Comments: This was my first baitcaster, has worked fine for almost a year now this is definately a reel for beginners, . . the drag isnt very great and it isnt the quietest reel, the twitchin bar i do not use. i would not recommend this reel to anyone, stick with shimano or abu garcia!

From: Matt: Marion, IL

Comments: i guess i'm just lucky, after reading the horror storie's about these reel's. i own 2 of them and have never had any problem's, not one. i use these reel's alot, so i can only say positive thing's about them. i fish with shimano's, garcia's, quantum, lew's speed spool and pflueger. i lean toward's the shimano's but i can't give a good reason why. maybe it's the price i paid for them. i think some people are are rougher on their tackle than other's. i don't know if the vineito's are any better for the difference in $$ but i'm going to buy one and find out

From: Wes: Salinas, CA

Comments: I bought one of these at Academy, and I will never purchase another Daiwa reel again.  I am sure that their $200-$600 reels are great, but this thing is total garbage.  It lasted 3 months, and the twitchin bar locked up on me, I took it apart, and put it back together, then it froze again less than a month later.  I then ended it's life by ripping the twithin bar off of the reel completely - it broke in half (with my bare hand - and I am not a strong guy) and throwing the bar and the reel in the trash. If you need a reel that is less than $100 bucks, there are many better choices.  If you want a good reel, go with Abu Garcia or BPS.  Daiwa reels are overpriced and junk.

From: Greg: Dallas, TX

Comments: I thought I knew better than all of you.  How could something with 11 ball bearings be anything but the best quality.? Learned my lesson the hard way.  The twitch bar froze and locked-up the reel after a few outings.  The grinding sound I heard next was the plastic gear tips rounding off. I took it apart. Nice brass gear on the twitch bar, but the rest of the guts are cheap plastic Chinese junk.

From: Mark: Wisconsin, USA

Comments: Update... I had a brake down this weekend. I am now agreeing with the customer that said it lasted about a year and a half. I didn't get the half out of it. However I had the same problem with the twitching bar gear. However it didn't go out it seized. This was do to rust in the one way bearing in the drive assembly for the twitching bar. Contacted Diawa for the gear part number G93-2601 cost.

Comments: Okay, so you want to hear an honest opinion on this reel, here it is, garbage.  There, I said it.  I have had 2 of these that went bad within 5 months of ownership.  All the negative comments on this reel is spot on.  Stay away from Daiwa reels that are less than 100 dollars, seriously.  They got their affordable reels made in china now and it shows :0.  DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

From: David: Murrieta, CA

Comments:Have 2 of them, I like them really well, thinking of getting another. Had one of them where the bail reengaged during the height of RPM in the cast. Now there is a flat spot in the gear. Twitching bar great for sinko's and 1\8th to 1\4 oz worms and jigs. Heavier baits will cause the bar to do "funky things"(or brake consider what the customer was doing before his "Broke after 2 hours of fishing.") So I would call it a finesse type bait caster. Throws light lures a really long way and medium spinner baits and crank baits a country mile. Drag system great, haven't broke off a single fish when using 10lb fluorocarbon. The reel also has a 1 year limited warranty and those who do have problems, customer service is great. I am sending in the one with the flat spot in the gear no charge.

From: Atascadero, CA

Comments:I have one of these reels, I was worried it was a bit cheap and might not be suitable, but it is amazing. The retrieve rate is very fast, making it suitable for cranking, and the twitch bar makes Carolina/mojo rig fishing a pleasure. And it casts forever. I will definitely get a few more.

From:Paul: Durban, South Africa

Comments: Took my new casting outfit for a practice run before my holidays. Good job I did as the Twitchin' bar broke in my hand after only 2 hours of use! I was impressed by the reel though, a few 'birdnests' to start with, but once balanced with the 20g lure I was satisfied with the casting distance and it's general performance.

From:Steve: Hartlepool, Teesside, OK

Comments:AMAZING REEL!!! For this price! I can cast a mile with no back lash, drag is perfect just amazing it's a must buy!

From:Dillan:Carrollton, GA

Comments:Ok Luke I will. The reel I myself bought was garbage there is an even 50/50 chance of getting one of these that work.

From:

Comments:There is about an even amount of good and bad comments, someone break the tie please and give a honest opinion on this reel.

From:Luke: Monroe, MI

Comments:This reel was good for the money. It lasted about a year and a half a the gear went out on the twitchin bar. For first time users with a bait caster this is the way to go.

From:Ethan: Huntingdon, PA

Comments:Well dang it I just read some of these comments and am disappointed because I just ordered it! Ill let you know what I think, I'm scared though. haha!

From:Brian: South Carolina, USA

Comments:PIECE OF CRAP!!!!! this reel is poorly made, and the drag clicks when fighting fish, drag is touchy and breaks are inefficient. Returning soon and buying another Citica!!!

From:Blake: Monroe, MI

Comments:Very decent reel for the money. My first baitcaster and no bird's nests yet. The twitchin bar is a nice feature. Casts great, and reels smoothly. I would recommend this reel to the more "valued" fisherman.

From:Loren: Sedro-Woolley, WA

Comments:I have had this real 3 times, it broke down 3 times. It is very poorly made. The gears keep braking and they make a terrible sound. DO NOT buy this reel. It is not smooth and the twitch'n bar always brake and twitches on its own while you reel. Doesn't cast far either.

From:Ryan: Mission Viejo, CA

Comments:This real is junk! The level wind stopped working and spins on itself. The gears are noisy when the clutch decides to engage. You can spend the $60 if you're really desperate to own a Daiwa. Read the other comments on here: you are 50-50 on getting one that works!

From:Bryan: Fortson, Ga

Comments:The Megaforce casts well, the drag is touchy and was good for a day of heavy fish (10-15lbs). 2nd day, problem with gears reengage after casting and the handle is cheap, 2 of 2 have bent. This is the last reel I buy without research.

From:Nick: Camp Pendelton, CA

Comments:This is a very smooth casting reel and it handles well. My only problem with it is that it torques under pressure, I have lost some big fish on it.

From:Jimmy: Sparta, TN

Comments:This is an awesome reel. I have been a Diawa loyal for about 15 yrs, and this is a great deal. I own 2 of them. Some of the other complaints I haven't experienced and I compete every week, have had these reels get totally drenched by rain, and they kept on working no problem.

From:Johnny: Stokesdale, NC

Comments:Fantastic reel for the price. Love the twich bar. Runs smooth and casts great!!

From:Brad: Queensland, Australia

Comments:The MEGA FORCE wont even reel in after casting and is noisy, very disappointed, guess I'll stick to Abu Garcia.
