Comments: This rod looks awesome. Unfortunately thats where the good ends. When I first saw the rod I noticed the guides were a little different. When I touched them they felt rather sharp but the looks of the rod prompted me to buy it. I spooled up and proceeded to practice casting with it when I noticed that with each cast my line (14# fluoro) came in looking worse and worse. Pretty soon it was snapping and when I was reeling in with some tension on the line I could see a white powder mist coming from the front four guides. The guides were literally shredding my line. I have never like daiwa products but I figured that for 70 bucks it would be of some quality. Definetly not the case. I have 20 dollar casting rods that preform flawlessly. Ridiculous.

Comments: This is an impressive rod for the price. I have the 6' 6" MH which I use for pitching small jigs. The rod is very light, very powerful and really well crafted. The guide placement is excellent, and the minima guides are outstanding. The reel seat and lockdown are rock solid. The rod itself is finished beautifully, as you can tell by the TW pics. Best yet, the rating is accurate, and the rod truly is a "medium heavy". I can't speak for the rest of the line, but we've all had medium heavies that were way too light or way too heavy. Daiwa got this dead on with my version. I've caught several bass exceeding three pounds, and the rod handled them with ease, yet it is not a broomstick. I can cast the lightest jigs with a tip that flexes just enough to launch 1/4 and 3/8 ounce weights with commanding accuracy (and I ain't that good, trust me). One other thing I really appreciate: the handle is just the right length for my stocky little arms and frame, and not too long, like many other rods. I'm not constantly catching my shirt or jacket with the butt, and that's a real pleasure. Bottom line: for the price, I really think this is a great rod. Again, kudos to Daiwa for another reasonably priced, very high quality rod. I may have to invent a reason to get another...and if I do, it'll come from Tackle Warehouse, my "go to" bass fishing resource. You guys are the best!

Comments: I have the 6'6"medium heavy. First off, the rod is strikingly beautiful, and a real upgrade from the previous line bearing this name. The medium heavy is actually a medium heavy, which surprised me a bit, since it's anyone's guess what you're really going to get. I have the rod paired with a 201E Citica, and it balances well, casts well, and is very sensitive. All in all, this is a very good rod for the money. One note: if you check out the picture of the guides, you'll notice that the rod blank has what appears to be "wrap" running up the entire blank. Daiwia finished these rods with a process that leaves a slight and perceptable ridge all along most of the blank: you can actually feel the texture with your fingers. Take that for whatever it's worth...it doesn't bother me a bit, but some may find it strange. Back to the review: the cork is a very good grade, and the reel seat has a smart lockdown that even the baitmonkey can't screw up. Guides and wrap are also very good, and the finish excellent. For a modest price, someone on a budget can really flesh out their arsenal with a quality rod. For those of us on a budget, Daiwa gets a big kudo for its upgraded Procyon.

Comments: Handles are about 2" SHORTER THAN PREVIOUS MODELS OF THE PROCYON. NOT GOOD!!! dAIWA SCREWD UP THERE. OTHERWISE THE RODS ARE VERY NICE AND LIGHTWEIGHT.

Comments: got the 7' 6" today kinda upset that it is telescopic rod and that it is not in the description of the rod, that being said it is a very light rod, feels good in your hand and the action is better than expected all in all I'm happy with it

Comments: I bought a 7foot heavy rod for an all around rod, today i went to my local pond and flipped the slop. this rod handles great its super light and super sensitive. the rod did its job and hauled a good 5 pound bass from some really thick pads. overall i think its a great rod for the money.
