Featuring a new body design and a host of Daiwa's latest technological advances, the Procyon Spinning Reel is the exclusive American model from Daiwa. Perfect for a wide range of finesse applications, its lightweight Aluminum body and Zaion Carbon Side Cover greatly reduce weight, while also providing the rigidity to withstand heavy torquing. It also comes equipped with Daiwa's new Air Rotor that is up to 15% lighter than normal rotor designs, offering better balance and distributing stress more efficiently.

Five bearings (3CRBB, 1BB+1RB) ensure consistently fluid casts and retrieves, and a smooth Waterproof Drag System furnishes durable, consistent pressure throughout its range.  Whether its drop shotting, shaky head fishing or any of your other favorite finesse presentations, the Procyon has the features to accommodate light lines and even braid, including Daiwa's Advanced Locomotive Levelwind, which helps ensure even line lay, as well as, Daiwa's Twist Buster system, which greatly reduces line twist. A solid performer with the features to set it apart from the competition, the Daiwa Procyon Spinning Reel offers tournament caliber performance.

Customer Reviews

Comments: I love my Procyon reel. I have fished mine hard for 3 years and never had any problems yet. The drag is smooth, while the gears are solid and consistent. The water tight seals is a definite plus, especially since I use this is as my primary smallmouth rig while wading the mountain streams of WV. Also love the rotor and the angle of the handle, which are both unique among spinning reels.  It is lightweight and feels great in the hand!

Comments: Bought this reel from my local shop and it started out really smooth and loved the idea of "sealed" mechanics for the salt. It's been 3 months now and I'm getting this small grind and tick while fishing 1/4 oz swimbaits slow to medium retrieve on 6lb. It doesn't stick or jolt but really annoying if trying to detect the slightest pickup. I'd say go with another choice. Perhaps shimano

Comments: Love the reel but when reeling at medium speed with a light bait it has an annoying "ticking" noise every rotation.
