Customer Reviews

Comments: great reel have this reel on med 6'6" rod 12lb gama fluro casting in strong wind no problem I couldn't believe the distance the 4.8 keitech sailed, barley thumbed the spool. very smooth drag is strong enough to pull beefers through the weeds. another great daiwa reel to my collection

From: Don: CT 10/1/16

Comments: got mine this year & all I can say is "WOW." Amazing & even better than the original Alphas/Sol. I keep my magnetic brakes around half & still cast super far, super smooth & with LITTLE backlash. The SV spool makes a huge difference between the older & newer models. I have mine paired with a Daiwa Zillion 7'0 med with 12# InvisX & I fish 1/8 oz lures up to 3/8 lures with this setup fishing for crappies. I can long bomb a t-rig senko further than my IP79 can a 1/2oz frog. I've pulled so many fish with this reel and I am so impressed by it. I've pulled fish out heavy weeds, lillypads, reeds, etc. and the reel's cranking power exceeds the original Alphas, but does not compare to a zillion's cranking power. Don't get me wrong, you can use this reel for heavier duty gear but why not optimize its finesse capability. The best distance casting, best ease of casting, smoothest casting, least backlash casting reel I've ever had. I want to get rid of all my older Alphas & upgrade to the newer model. 10/10

Comments: I have been using this reel for 3 months now. I have used for flipping, weightless trigs, small top water,  big top water. Anything you can imagine. It throws any size of baits extremely well. This reel has took the place of all my spinning reels. It holds plenty of line for bass fishing. I now mainly use it with 12 invisx on a 7'1 m & it is my go to for small cranks any trigs also every finesse application. I have had almost every 500-600 reel  from shimano & Abu Garcia & they feel like junk compared to this. 10/5 stars

From: Connor: Syracuse, NY 5/25/16

Comments: I bought this reel for jerkbaits because of the finesse ability; it casts even the smaller sized jerkbaits like they are rattle traps. I can easily cast a 1/8th road runner with a 2 inch crappie grub. I am using 10lb HiSeas fluoro and a medium, fast tipped 7' rod. This reel doesn't hold much line, but with 10lb or 12lb you get roughly 100 yards and that is more than enough to fight a fish. It palms great and has a very high end feel. The thumb bar engagement has a sturdy metal feel and I am very pleased overall with the reel.

From: Weston: Batesville, AR 1/18/16

Comments: Wow, this thing castas twice as far as a tatula and my other high end daiwas. it almost casts too far (if that's possible) it feels like a $600 reel. its a finesse reel, its compact, super light. Only complaint i have is that the spool is small but then again its finesse.
