Overview
Quite possibly one of the best casting baitcasting reels ever made, the Daiwa Steez SV TW Casting Reel features Daiwa’s SV Concept and TW T-Wing System, as well as, Daiwa’s most advanced reel technologies.
Its compact profile ensures easy handling, and its new shallow SV Free Floating Spool design allows you to cast with virtually no backlashing. You barely have to thumb the spool - even with lightweight lures. The TW T-Wing System solves an age-old problem with baitcasting reel levelwind systems as well. It reduces friction and harsh line angles on the cast by allowing line to flow freely through the wide, top section of the T-wing system on the outcast. On the retrieve when the handle is engaged, the line then drops into the lower channel of the T-Wing for even distribution across the spool width. The result is longer, more precise casting, even spool speed, and virtually zero backlashes.
The Magnesium frame and side cover keep the Steez SV TW incredibly lightweight, and the Ultimate Tournament Drag system starts up smooth and stays smooth throughout its range. Delivering casting performance you have to experience to believe, the Daiwa Steez SV TW Casting Reel continues to push the limits of what is possible with casting reels.

Comments: All I can say is wow! Smoother than any bait caster I've ever used cast a 3/16 oz jig an impressive distance as well will be saving up for another for sure!

Comments: This is just a great reel. I own 4 of them. I have used allot of reels over 50 plus years of fishing, and none can match this reels performance. The only downside to this reel is that all those other reels you probably spent thousands on will no longer make you happy. Just a warning.

Comments: One of my Favorite reels of all time! I bought my first one when this model first came out. I instantly fell in love with the precise cast control and used it for jerkbait fishing with light line! I now have four of these reels and my first one still functions the same as the day I first got it! Quality product! I promise you will not regret purchasing one of these reels!

Comments: Reel is great for skipping, flipping or pitching. Handles light baits well and is easy to palm.

Comments:This is a great reel. Very light, smooth and easy to palm. It casts a mile, even light lures. I haven't adjusted the tensioner only the brakes and had no issues in casting. I'm glad I bought it and recommend you do as well.

Comments: So I had to chime in on this reel after looking at other reviews. It really amazes me that people spend $500 on a reel before doing any research. The reason the spool adjustment knob is hard to access/turn is because you really aren't supposed to touch it. The reel is designed to be ready to go out of the box, you just need to adjust the magnetic/magforce brake on the side plate. It's that simple...this thing casts a mile and is buttery smooth. Once you fish with this reel it makes it hard to pick up any others. I own an older Steez SV6.3, a Steez A TW and this SV TW and they are all amazing. I fish only Daiwa reels...best reels available, hands down.

Comments: I spent a day on the water with this reel and I'm not regretting the price of admission even one little bit. Paired the reel with a Phenix Feather MH rod, spooled it with 30# J-Braid x8 with a 15# leader and fished a 7-8' ribbontail worm all day with a 1/8oz weight. Casting was effortless. Casting distance was truly impressive. Retrieve was smooth to the point of feeling like there were no gears in the reel. In addition to being built like a Swiss watch, it's also really small and extremely light. Tip: don't touch the "spool tension". It's set from the factory to eliminate end play on the spool and doesn't need to be adjusted further. It's hard to get a grip on for a reason! The only adjustment you need is the brake on the sideplate.

Comments: This thing is amazing! It's compact, light, and casts farther than any other reel I've owned. Been a daiwa fan since day one. Get yourself one and you will NOT be disappointed! Tight lines!

Comments: OK, So i will try to make this short while giving as much helpful info that i can. I own the Shimano Metanium and aldebaran so i will compare these to the Steez. Shimanos where Butter smooth out of the box. after 2/3 months of daily fishing they started to whine and become very clunky.. after Tackle warehouse exchanged them many many times i decided to dump shimano after 10 years. This Steez was something i did a lot of research on and i have noticed that there really isnt to much info on it other then what Daiwa has put out there.
So here we go size Met,steez,alde... If you have small hands and palm your reels the Alde might be better... them the steez, the steez is just about the same size as the alde, the steez and adle just have diff ergonomics... The Met is well Bigger then both so it might be fair to include this. casting? when it comes to throwing a 1/8th OZ wacky rig the Steez will out cast both of the others with ease. The adle is for light lures as well as the steez. but the Met is for throwing heavier baits casting smoothness? I would have to say the Steez again, Now my Steez is a little bit louder when casting then the others but still SMOOTH>>
retrieve? hands down Steez... its like your not even reeling anything in.. Its just something you would have to experience...Weight? Aldebaran is 4.7 steez 5.5 Met 6.4 honestly matched with the right rod any of them will balance nice.. but you can feel a difference when handling them off the rods. Line Cap.. well here the Met wins but i use Sufix 30# on all my rods so the (small line Cap) has no effect on me. I can see if your using 20# Floro on any of these reel and throwing a 1/2 OZ swim bait your not going to have enough line. So all and all and lots of looking and reading i obviously pulled the trigger and when i go out and fish ( which is ever morning and every night) i find myself constantly reaching for the steez. so this means that i will be ordering a few more. Daiwa Hit it out of the park with this one..
only Con is the 80mm Handle, I like a big handle, But that is an easy fix... Yes more money and i feel it should have come with at least a 90.. I prefer 103mm even the Met XG comes with a 90.. But dont let that be a deciding factor

Comments: I have always owned Daiwa's high end equipment and I can say this with zero hesitation that this is the best real ever made, casts a mile , superbly accurate and to be honest it feels like cheating because it's impossible to backlash it. if you can afford it you can't go wrong!

Comments: Decided to see how much better a $500 reel is than say a $250-$300 Lews. This reel is as smooth as they come, but as others have stated, the right-side adjustment knob is awkward to adjust. As for casting distance and control, if you take the time to finely adjust things, the reel does a decent job of mitigating backlashes, but at the expense of casting distance. Amazing reel, but I'll save a couple hundred dollars and buy the high-end Lews, which functions and performs better for me.

Comments: Daiwa Steez is a very light and compact reel. It is extremely light & well built. The reel feels extremely smooth & a very fine drag. An improvement could be the cast control knob which is very difficult to adjust; instead to adjust the external brakes are used. However, it is extremely accurate. You don't even have to thumb the line and you are able to cast without a backlash. It feels even smaller than a tatula CT type R so you can compare its size. The drag is consistent & very smooth, however the spool is quite shallow, Light lures are extremely easy to cast; with the help of SV spool & TWS system, casting is extremely effortless. To cast further, simply cast smoothly rather than use excessive force.

Comments: Amazing reel smooth as butter & it bombs light weight baits a mile with little effort. Only have to adjust the braking system and not the tension knob makes it so much easier. I use mostly 13 fishing concept a reels and this reel makes them feel cheap. I am still a die hard 13 fishing fan but if you could afford this reel get it. best out there
