Comments: I bought the 7'4 frog rod, love the rod, it's perfect for frogs and flipping but and a huge but the guides are straight trash. Truly disappointed, for the price tag, this rod should have quality guides. I have had $50 rods with better quality guides. This is the number one issue I hear from everyone with this rod, why Daiwa doesn't address it is beyond me.

From: Ryan: Texas 4/3/22

Comments: Have both casting and spinning versions of the AGS and love em. HOWEVER, if you break a line guide you'll learn DAIWA won't replace it. You have to replace entire rod! Kind of a bummer.

From: Bill: San Diego, CA 2/13/22

Comments: I had the 7'4" Ish Frog rod. Nice looking, good feel, light weight but beware of the AGS guides. They are VERY brittle and break easily. One of mine broke off at the base within the first 6 months of occasional (not heavy use). Looks and design are good, quality of the guides makes me hesitant to recommend it to anyone.

From: Gotch: Montgomery, AL 10/13/21

Comments: I like the frog rod. You can detect bite from a mile away in those tall blind veggie spots. Tip is nice not to fast where it will rip the frog out of its mouth. Has good tip to walk those frogs. I would say the blank load action helps hook up ratio as well compared to other frog rods. I really like the reel seat very comfortable. It's like a oldschool ECS reel seat but a 2.0 version. I was amazed how well the foam grip feels especially fishing with braid we all know braid holds water like a mofo. But with the foam your hands are not constantly dripping water like cork. I dont know, just feel dryer than cork and that's a plus. The split grip helps walking the baits if you use the but section to bounce off your forearms. Typical reel seat length it works. Foregrip lock down nut for the reel is perfect to palm your pointing finger on there. Only negative is that the Daiwa emblem rubber but bump on the end of the rod fell off. Other than that the Ags is a nice upgrade.

Comments: I have a long cast frog rod and it is amazing. I caught a 25 ilb muskie on a frog last week and I horsed the muskie in on it! I skied it in like a rat bass. I recommend these rods highly!

Comments: I purchased the 7' MH. Rod performance is outstanding. However, the AGS guides are not durable. Had one detach on the first big fish (8 lbs) I caught on it. Due to the pandemic, the turnaround of sending it to the warranty dept. and getting it back was going to take forever. I decided to gorilla glue it back in place and its been fine since. I would recommend getting the Tatula Elite series without the AGS guides.

From: DJ: Alabama 8/1/20

Comments: I never thought I would be in this price range for a single rod just to catch a bass. I have slowly worked my way up from an Aird X, Fuego, Tatula XT, Tatula, Tatula Elite and finally decided to try the AGS line to see if the difference was really THAT noticeable. Long story short, they are. I started with Ish's 7'6 Flipping rod. The first bite I got on this rod threw me off. It was so clear exactly what the fish was doing with the bait. Aggressively sending every move he made to my hand. It completely spoiled me. I sold my other combos and purchased the Ehrler 7' Med-MH casting and 7'1 Medium spinning rod. The regular Tatula and Alconite Elites are great rods and plenty sensitive enough... If you don't ever touch one of the AGS rods. If I had to say some negative things about them it would be the paint on the reel seat is cheap and chips easy. Another is really just the nature of the product but I find myself being overly cautious of the guides. Definitely recommend either Tatula Elite but if you can swing the cost go with the AGS.

Comments: 7'4" Ish Monroe frogging rod is the best frogging rod ive ever used paired with a tatula elite reel. The action on the tip works the frog amazing. The back bone is crazy good. making the rod as a whole incredible. and its light. with the right dialed reel. long hook sets are easy. I have switched all my rods to tatule elite and elite ags rods. some of the best rods for different techniques.

Comments: Purchased the 7' Med-MH Ehrler which is labeled as a power finesse rod. This rod is absolutely perfect for lighter texas rigs and jigs. I threw a 3/16oz texas rig all week on Guntersville last month and WOW! Super light, durable and extremely sensitive, you wont be disappointed.

From: Tony: Chicago, IL 5/13/20

Comments: Okay ive never written a review on any product, but this is just DIFFERENT. Im not gonna say this is the lightest rod but it is extremely light. But this thing is just different (7'6 Flip) it has a perfect balance, almost no swing weight. The guides still scare me, ive dropped it and accidentally smacked the closest guide to the reel against a rod tube and it didnt chip or break so thats a plus. Now lets get to the different part... The way everything feels through this rod is intensely different than anything ive ever fished with before(glx, nrx, dobyns, shimano, lews rods) it sends the vibration so violently to all 4 of my fingers that it feels like the rod jumps just from the weight hitting bottom, You can take 10 ft of line off and keep your bait on semi slack, BLOW ON IT and you feel it im not sure if its the carbon fiber guides or just the rods construction but i can tell you these ags rods are leaps and bounds more sensative than the regular tatula elites.. absolutely different in the best way.

Comments: Warning: Long, in-depth review. Recline your seat, get a drink, and relax while reading this. TLDR at bottom. After using this rod consistently for about 2 years now, I will update my thoughts about this rod. I am using the 7'1" M-MH rod and it is still performing exceptionally. I have not really done anything crazy to take care of this rod, other than using the included rod sleeve, which is great, and making sure I don't do something stupid to it. After about 2 years, it is still in good condition. I've used this rod for ponds, lakes, and some action in saltwater. It held up to the various conditions over the years and I have not experienced any issues. Lets talk AGS. The AGS guides are easily as good as titanium frame guides and is probably what makes this rod amazing. AGS guides are made of carbon fiber, which is more rigid than titanium. This makes it just as good, if not better than titanium framed guides at transmitting energy from your line to the blank, making it have a very crisp feeling and high sensitivity. Titanium guides are usually only found on rods priced over $399 (pretty damn expensive). This rod is pretty light and well balanced as well, felt good for some BFS usage. The rod is rated from 1/8oz to 1oz and I think its a very accurate rating unlike some other rods I have tried over the past few years. Throwing lures weighing over 1oz will feel make the rod feel strained during casts and retrieve, and using things under 1/8oz will be pretty hard to cast far, even with my current favorite reel, the Shimano 16 Aldebaran BFS (I did not use this reel for saltwater if anyone is worried). I've found that aerodynamic 1/16oz lures are relatively easy to cast. I have caught some thicc bass including a 9lb 5oz monster in my neighborhood lake and it handled amazingly. It was a very memorable fight, like my current PB bass: a 11lb 2oz chonk from that same lake. I've found myself using a lot of jerkbaits (got the 9lb 5oz boi with a vision 110), plastics (mainly weightless Keitech swimbaits, neko rigged worms, creature baits), cranks, and swimbaits (my current favorite being the MagDraft Freestyle, VERY good lure which had the honor of being smashed by my PB). I can say that this rod felt really good for all of those; though of course not as good as rods like G.Loomis GLX, G.Loomis/Shimano Conquest, or my favorite rods currently, the Megabass Destroyer rods ( 6'11" OneTen and 7'1" FMJ). But, for the very nice price of $279, you absolutely can not go wrong with the Tatula AGS. It can withstand the test of time exceptionally and is almost comparable to big dollar enthusiast rods (not many can). My rating of this rod will be (keep in mind this is compared to all rods I've tried like the aforementioned big dollar enthusiast rods) : Build Quality - 9.5 This rod is built with top of the line materials, and built correctly. AGS guides are insane. Performance - 8 Again, AGS guides definitely make this rod amazing. Price - 10 Literally the best rod you can get at this price in my opinion, closely followed by the Megabass Orochi XX. Features - 8 Quality materials, AGS. Ergonomics - 9 Comfortable reel seat, well balanced and lightweight. Application - 9.5 Super versatile. Basically can do anything well with this rod within its lure weight limits. TLDR : Build Quality - 9.5 Performance - 8 Price - 10 Features - 8 Ergonomics - 9 Application - 9.5

Comments: I just used the Ehrler 7 ft M MH finesse and got 1st place in my first tournament for 2019 Neko rigging a Daiwa fat 5 worm, paired with a Tatula SV TW ,this rod is so sensitive you could feel a moth fart on your bait.I am ordering another one right now !!!!!!!!

Comments: Review of 7'4" Hvy Ish Monroe frog rod.  Initially I was very impressed with the weight, balance, feel and looks of this rod.  However, I have found it to be underpowered for hook setting on large and medium size frogs with heavier wire hooks (Bully Wa 2s, Gavachos, etc).  It will probably be fine for the smaller frogs with lighter wire hooks but after missing too many fish on this rod, I will be looking elsewhere

Comments: Picked up the 7'6 flipping stick paired with the Tatula Sv 7.3gr and it's the lightest flipping combo I've ever used. Flipping, pitching, punching, and frogging are all easily doable on this stick. Buy one I promise u won't be disappointed

From: Ethan: Ontario 3/27/19

Comments: Buy the 7' 6" Heavy Ish rod people. It's the most ridiculously powerful, light weight, balanced, and sensitive stick I've ever bought for the money. Flipping t-rigged plastics, heavy jigs, punching, and frogging are all easily doable with this thing. I'm talking Steez sensitive people, nearly as sensitive as my Japanese Compile-X jig rod and that's saying something considering the Tatula Elite AGS is $350 less expensive. I'll leave it at that.

From: Lex: Avon 7/12/18

Comments: Ok! I didn't think this rod was gonna be this good!!! Im on a challenge to catch 5 bass every day and I'm on day 5. Setting the hook is as easy as a little yank and it's on! So sensitive and flexible. The ags guides are a must, so much lighter than the alconite guides form Fuji. Handles 50# braid well. Pretty versatile, advertised for finesse but I have flipped, pitched, jigged, cranked, and even some inshore action. Just amazing. Best deal at this price. But in all honesty, the steez seires is still better. Well that's what you get for$270 100% best rod at this price point.

From: Ryan: Florida 5/22/18

Comments: In an attempt to eliminate spinning gear from my rod arsenal I was in the market for a nice finesse oriented casting rod, I ended up purchasing the 7' M-MH Ehrler. Paired it up with a Tatula SV and it's a very nice outfit and has done a great job as my main finesse rod. Anything 1/8 oz and under I throw with this rod as well as all of my jerkbaits. It's handled everything beautifully. It's extremely sensitive, I can tell when a single blade of grass gets on my bait. Very well balanced, the balance point is right at the foregrip with the reel on. And pretty lightweight as well, to be honest I was expecting it to be a little lighter given the price point, length and power but that's just me being picky, it's by no means heavy or uncomfortable. Overall I love this rod, Daiwa continues to impress me.

Comments: Ok I don't write reviews much at all but this was worth my time ... I have to say I sold my Dobyns HP rod 744 . Decided to buy 76 hvy flipping rod best thing I ever did best balance rod I ever owned light and tip is awesome I can't say enough about this rod I'll be back for couple more

Comments: Being from Minnesota, flipping creature style baits in the grass is a very popular way to fish and I was in need of a great flipping rod. The Daiwa Tatula Elite Casting AGS Rod 8Ë™ Heavy Monroe is one of the most comfortable flipping rods IË™ve used in a long time. The rod allows the user to fish more efficiently all day. During the summer, I donË™t put down the flipping rod at all so it's important to me that I'm using a comfortable rod. The 16Ë™ inch handle with the foam grips allows the user to hold the rod comfortably and be able to set the hook without the butt-end of the rod jabbing into your ribs. I really like that because IË™ve used flipping rods in the past that would have shorter handle lengths, which didn't allow me to have good leverage when setting the hook. The action and power in this rod is awesome every time I set the hook into a fish the power allows me to get the fish out of that heavy cover really fast as well as getting a good hook set in the fish. For being an 8â•ÂË™ft rod the sensitivity is great. Every single fish that Iâ•ÂË™ve caught so far Iâ•ÂË™ve been able to feel the bite right away without hesitation. I love the technology put into this rod. The new Carbon fiber AGS guides have decreased the amount of line twists that I would normally get when using a different rod. The guides do a great job of increasing the sensitivity in the rod and with increased smoothness when the line travels through the guides. These are great qualities to have in a flipping rod. Whether youâ•ÂË™re a beginner or an experienced fisherman, one can never go wrong with having the proper equipment when fishing. I highly recommend getting this rod you wonâ•ÂË™t be disappointed.

Comments: I love these Tatula Elite rods. I do wish the AGS guide models were double-footed  guides, all the way up. I've already had issue with 3 of my AGS guides breaking or either coming loose. I'm sending another back to Daiwa on Monday because of the guide coming loose somehow. The guides are so light, Daiwa should make all models double-footed to save on warranty repair. Other than guide issues, the rod is perfection!

Comments: I was in need for a weightless plastic rod(flukes, senkos, and finesse plastic techniques) and I purchased the 7ft Med-Med Heavy model. I mounted a Shimano Aldebaran 50 with 8lb sniper fc flouro. First time out I hooked into a 6lb 1oz largemouth throwing a watermelon rdflk super fluke on a 2/0 Gama ewg. The parabolic bend of this rod perfect for tossing weightless bait super far(with the help of the Aldebaran obviously ;) ) but it also has the perfect balance of tip to backbone for sticking the hook very well and keeping it pinned while the fish is jumping, thrashing  running, etc. The ags guides on this thing are no joke. I felt SO MANY more bites while my senko or fluke was on the fall before I even had engaged the spool. Just a slight *tick* and you can give just a small little pop of the rod and your hook placement will be fine(I have a buddy that homerun hooksets and always rips the hook out). I would highly recommend pure flouro with this rod also. Braid to flouro leaders, even with a perfectly tied FG knot, seem to catch on the guides and hinder casting distance just a little bit. Overall, the weight of the blank is very impressive along with its extreme sensitivity for its price point.(My Steez SVF-AGS eats this thing alive but that thing is a different monster in itself) I would highly recommend. I upgraded to this rod after selling a JDM Zillion 7ft Med-Hvy. I like the reel seat but more on this rod with that section of exposed blank that your fingers with cover up and feel more bites.

Comments: What a home run by Daiwa. I bought the 7'4 and 7'6 Heavy Ish Monroe series of the Tatula AGS line and am in love with them. These rods are so light it's crazy. I've been using the 7'6 Heavy for throwing spro frogs and horny toads in the pads and the 7'4 for swim jigs. Both have great tips for throwing and working these baits and plenty of backbone to get them out of the thick stuff. Both rods will double up as great flipping/punching rods and Football jig and Carolina rig rods, honestly anything you would throw on 20 pound flouro. Great job Daiwa and thank you Tackle Warehouse!

From: JM: Texas 8/30/17

Comments: I just tried for the first time recently acquired Daiwa Tatula Elite AGS Casting Rod 7' Med-MH Ehrler paired with the new Tatula SV casting reel that I purchased for my Finesse fishing. I was very skeptical about casting light lures long distances but after using them for the first time I was amazed of casting a senko neko rigged for 30 yards and covering so much water weight less  catching so much fish it was fun and effortless!!! Great Job Daiwa. Get yourself some of this combo with out hesitation.

From: IVAN: Del Rio Tx. 4/24/17

Comments: I have the 7' MH Ehler and it's a fantastic rod. I bought it for throwing 1/4 - 1/2 ounce jigs and texas rigs and it's perfect. I've caught several fish in the 2 - 3 pound range and the rod handles them beautifully. My only concern is how the AGS guides will hold up after a couple seasons of use. The rod comes with a booklet that has more instructions for the guides than caring for a Gremlin. Makes me nervous about their durability, but right now I absolutely love the rod!
