The Daiwa VIP Smallmouth Casting Rods offer superior strength and sensitivity, as well as ideal actions and tapers for a range of bass fishing applications. While designed specifically for smallmouth, they are just as well suited for targeting largemouth, spots, rock bass, etc. Since there is a lot of crossover as far as the forage that different species of freshwater bass feed on, and the different species often inhabit the same lakes and waterways, a lot of times you don’t know what type of bass you are going to catch until it's on the end of your line. Line and lure ratings, as well as actions and tapers dictate what type of baits you can throw with a given rod, but what is really important is the quality of the blanks and components.
Their 45 million modulus HVF (High Volume Fiber) graphite blanks furnish the superior sensitivity necessary to detect subtle bites, and Daiwa’s Bias blank construction ensures they resist twisting for increased strength, longevity and hook-setting power. Premium Fuji components, including Fuji Alconite Guides at Concept Spacing and a genuine Fuji Reel Seat, also offer excellent durability and reliable performance, and each rod is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. Excellent rods available at a price that is hard to pass up, the Daiwa VIP Smallmouth Casting Rods take care of business.

-Hook Keeper
-Backed by Limited Lifetime Warranty
Comments: These rods are awesome for $50. I got a 6'9" medium and the 7' 3". The only bad thing is that the first guide on the 7'3 is out of alignment with the reel seat. Haven't decided if its bad enough to send it back. I guess its a small detail and TW staff can't catch everything. Otherwise the rods has alconite guides and the blank feels good with a nice soft tip.

Comments: Just got the 691 and the 731, the 7'3 heaavy is a little tip heavy but a quality rod; the 6'9 Medium is a well balanced rod that feels great in the hand my only complaint is the oversized hook keepers are a little much.

Comments: picked up the MH for some all purpose bassin' - threw some lipless cranks around and casts like a dream - has the power to control bigger fish - no complaints - sweet rod for a sweet price.

Comments: Wow....been a Daiwa fan for some time, I always passed on these rods do to the full grip. I wanted a cranking rod so I got the 6.9 med...two days later I ordered 2 of the 7.3 for froggin...Light, sensitive, and a steal at this price.
From: Matt: Montgomery
Comments: I have the 6'9" MH & 7'3 H. Both feel like excellent rods. Lightweight, fast action, and good backbone for pulling bass out of cover. If you're not worried about jumping on the "split grip" band wagon this is a great rod for that price. Tacklewarehouse is one of the few places I've ever seen that will ship a 1-piece rod for Free, so its a no-brainer to buy a rod of this quality for $50 and not have to pay shipping.

Comments: Just got one of these and can't figure out why nobody is buying them for 50 dollars. Ordered the 7'3 Heavy for a heavy jig, pitching/flipping, frog, and light swimbait rod and love it. Daiwa has extremely high quality products for the money and surpass shimano in my opinion.
From: Max: San Diego, CA
Comments: Just received my Daiwa VIP 7'3 Hvy bc and the price is worth the rod.
