The Daiwa Zillion TWS Casting Reel dishes out advanced, cutting-edge performance worthy of the Zillion name. Its TWS T-Wing Casting System features a T-aperture which allows line to flow freely through the wide top section during casting and free spool, and when the reel is engaged it funnels line through the narrow, lower channel of the T-wing for even distribution across the width of the spool. This advanced design provides increased casting accuracy and distance, as well as a more natural fall for your lures.

Its Aluminum Frame and proprietary Zaion Side Cover also combine to form an extremely rigid, lightweight base, while its high brass gearing material and cut-away 90mm swept handle team up to deliver incredible winding power. Also equipped with Daiwa’s Magforce Z system for more precise cast control, the Ultimate Tournament Drag system dishes out 13.2lb of max drag pressure. Designed for tournament fishing, the Daiwa Zillion TWS Casting Reel won’t take no for an answer.

Customer Reviews

Comments: I have three of these now, started with one but they are so good for the money I just keep buying them

From: Paul: TX 9/19/16

Comments: I gave a review on the 9.1 a while back, have bought 2 more now at the new price. AMAZING for that price. I bought a 7.3 with 10lb Fluoro & cast 3/16 & 1/8 shaky heads very easily. This is a very good reel. Durable, little big, but great. The drag on my 9.1 has diminished some, but still at least what it is rated at. If I could go back I would have a 5 & 6 for cranking, & all 7.3s for the rest at the $180 sale price. I also own an SV105 which really casts light, but the Zillion TWS is no slouch for finesse, just needs practice.

From: Weston: AR 9/18/16

Comments: Outstanding reel. I'm comparing this to my Lews Team Pro & Shimano Chronarch Ci4 which I've been using predominantly up until now. I just bought two more during the labor day sale in the 7:1 gear ratio for punching & frogging and used the 6:1 gear ratio for moving baits like chatters, spinnerbaits and small swimbaits. I get better distance compared to my Lews and Shimano & smoother casting (albeit marginally) compared to the chronarch. Don't get me wrong, the lews team pro and ci4 are awesome reels but these daiwa zillion tws are just a better overall and all around. The ONLY potential negative is that it is heavier than my chronarch and LEWS however, when these are paired on my flipping and frogging rods, they balance out much better. The chronarch feels better on my 6'6" jerkbait rod & my lews feels better on my senko casting rod.

From: Jay: CA 9/13/16

Comments: This a great reel. The first couple of trips I used it when i reeled it felt a little "thin" but now it works fantastically! The 7:1.1 is great for presentations when you need to cover lots of water or pull in lots of slack. I would highly recommend this reel.

From: Jacob: GA 8/25/16

Comments: I am satisfied with this reel so far. It was feeling a little "thin" when reeling it the first couple of trips, but it broke in & it works great. For the sale price, it is a great reel that is very comfortable to palm and a pleasure to use! It cast pretty well with the TWS system with light lures and 15lb line. I would recommend this reel!

From: Jacob: GA 8/24/16

Comments: I bought the last 9:1 left hand crank off of the special. All I can say is what a reel! I put it on my flippin stick & it is exactly what I was looking for it has a perfect balance of power & speed with great skipping & pitching control.

From: Bill: WI 8/16/16

Comments: great reel. it's so smooth and casts super far. got the 6.3 gear ratio & it's an absolute dream. works great for your everyday fishing. best reel I've ever had and will be looking into more daiwa reels!

From: Jake: St. Joseph, MN 7/19/16

Comments: This reel feels like it has resistance, when casting & reeling. I turn the brakes all the way down & back off the tension knob & I can still feel resistance. I can cast much further & smoother with any other baitcaster I own, including my Tatula. This reel is going back to TW & I will not be purchasing another.

From: Austin: MO 7/17/16

Comments: I bought one a few weeks ago and Absoutly love it. It's the best baitcasting reel I have ever owned. I placed a order for another yesterday.

From: Devin: San Andreas, CA 6/25/16

Comments: I purchased that 6.3:1 for cranking & I'm in love! Reel is excellent. Casts everything from the lightest cranks to the heaviest. Lots of torching power. Team it up with a 7'4" St. Croix Crankster and you have one badass cranking  setup.

From: Corey: USA 6/14/16

Comments: it casts better than my lew's pro team & is smoother than my quantum smokes. It's the best of both worlds. I can't speak to the durability yet, but it is a daiwa.it is definitely a great reel. I will be ordering some more very soon,

From: Doug: Sylvania, OH 6/13/16

Comments: Best reel I have ever purchased. I have the 7.3:1 & it is the best reel for pitching, Flippin jigs & top water. I still feel it's a little too slow for buzzbaits & frogs for my liking, so I'm going to be purchasing the 9.1:1 here soon. In fact, I plan on buying each of the reels! Absolutely amazing.

From: Matt: WA 6/4/16

Comments: I've had everyone ratio of the old Zillion & these Zillions definitely feels better. I'm not sure how anyone would say the old Zillions are better? These by far are better to me. The Zillion HD are even better than these. I guess due too better bearings. Either way, these are lighter, feels smoother & casts long. I haven't tried the compact Zillion yet, but sure I will.

From: Darren: NC 6/2/16

Comments: The older zillions feel like they have tighter tolerances but the new Zillions are more comfortable to palm & lighter. I've been a Zillion fan for years but the honest truth is these things rock! Don't expect to cast 30 yards further that's just not going to happen. 10-20' depending on the bait, line, etc. is more realistic. Just a heads up, the new Zillion TWS SV has hit USA & can only be compared to the Steez SV but these Zillions can not be beat for the price range. Daiwa also has one of the easiest, fastest, hassle free warranty centers I've ever seen in my life. I only wish they would make a 5.5:1 in a left hand retrieve (they do make a RH). The 5.5:1 in left hand is only available on the Zillion TWS SV which is about $100 more.

From: Shallowrunner: Louisville, KY 3/10/16

Comments: this reel straight from the box is outstanding. If you like the tatula you will love this. Upgrade the 3 bushings to bearings (same size as handle bearing) & it transforms to a new monster. Get this reel and you won't be disappointed. Daiwa nailed it with tws variants & also the new steez SV. If they made an SV spool for this reel I'd have all zillion tw.

From: TD: USA 10/12/15

Comments: My girlfriend purchased this reel for my birthday & I am very impressed. I had recently read a review that stated the Zillion didn't have light lure casting ability, it was very wrong. I can cast a 3/16oz swimjig with a 3in Fat Albert single tail with 18lb fluoro. I have the 9.1 & do notice torque does go down some versus a 7ratio, but it is still fine. I use this reel on a 7'3" Lews MH Custom Speed Stick (Magnum Hammer) & have no problems. It is an upgraded Tatula, not made in Japan, but oh well neiter are Revos or Lews & all mine work the same.

From: Weston: Batesville, AR 9/16/15

Comments: I bought this reel and sold it the same week. I own a Tatula type-R and I honestly didn't see enough of an upgrade between the two to justify the price gap. My Tatula with $5 worth of bearings to replace the bushings is smoother and cast equally as well. You're almost better off getting 2-3 base model tatulas for the price of one Zillion tws

From: Patrick: Atlanta, GA 7/16/15

Comments: The new Zillion is a really nice reel. It is based off of the Tatula so it has the same frame, size and feel to that. It does have much more refined gearing and a lot smoother and throws a little farther with the TWS and free floating spool. If you are happy with your Tatula then you will LOVE the new Zillion, it is a Tatula on steroids, if you didn't like the Tatula, well, you need to look at the older Zillions which were a classic.

From: Tim: TX 1/22/15

Comments: If you're a fan of the Tatula and Tatula Type R you'll love the new Zillion. Palms much better due to a more angled front body piece. Casts farther and overall, feels more refined. If you're a fan of the feel of the original Zillion platform look elsewhere.

From: G.C.: FL 1/20/15

Comments: Very smooth, casts a mile, and the quality you would expect from Daiwa. The TWS allows for a much further casting distance just like the Tatula.

From: Rich: Leesville, LA 1/8/15

Comments: Got one and already know it's a good buy! Better casting than a Tatula and much more "quality" feel. Really lives up to the Zillion name. It's a a steel on steroids
