Comments: If your looking for a drop shot at a killer price, this is your rod! I have also spent a lot of time drop shotting with weights more than 1/2 oz. What I found with this rod is that you can get the bottom contact with very light weights. The rod is very light and very sensitive. You will feel bites that normally you wouldn't. I must warn you, however, purchasing this rod will require the purchases of more Dobyns rod in the future....

Comments: I fish Jerkbaits on spinning tackle and the Champion 704 is perfect for pointer 100s, X Rap 10s and Spro McStick 110s. At first I thought the tip was too soft for big Jerkbaits, I was wrong it's soft enough to keep those trebles in the fish's mouth and has the backbone a sensitivity to haul in the big ones.

Comments: I found myself spending about $100 on a rod for a few years now. I have a Compre, Veritas, and a Mojo Bass. They work but I always seem to want something new. Tackle Warehouse has some great deals if you check in often and I hit the JackPot with this rod. I would trade ALL of my rods for one of these. The line just takes off through these guides and I've never felt what was going on in the water like this. All for $175. People who say the other rods are as good just don't want to spend the $$$. Thanks.

Comments: best rods for the money. 702 is an incredible shaky head rod

From: Pete: Mooresville, NC

Comments: Just received my Dobyns Champion 702 and can't wait to use it! It has different guides than the one's in these pics. It now has the 3D Z-Series Kigan tangle free guides. I have not used these guides before so I will see in the near future how these are. The guides look very sturdy compared to the micro guides on the Dobyns Savvy line. I have had those bend several times. I don't see these NEW guides on the Champion line bending... The ONLY bad thing I can say is, I wish the hook keeper was ABOVE the reel seat instead of below. This location ALWAYS is bad.... Not sure what's up with hook hangers below the cork? In time, this will damage the cork. "Only negative with this rod"

Comments: I have a 683 for throwing weightless senkos. The rod is super sensitive and very light. At first I thought the tip was too soft but after using it a few times it is perfect. Has plenty of backbone to get the bigger fish out of the weeds. Nicest spinning rod I have ever used. I also like the fact that it has a short handle, some don't but I prefer it.
