Comments: This is a great flipping rod. I mainly throw 3/8-1/2oz but it has no problem with 3/4oz. It isn't a punch rod but it gets pretty close. Ignore the reviews from 2019 about the guides. During that time and previously Dobyns had a bad batch of guides. They changed the guides with the new "XP" models. I have 4 new rods with the better guides and no issues.

Comments: I've been searching for a dedicated flipping rod. My first pick was a Cashion ICON 7'6" MH. Put suffix 832 on it to maximize sensitivity. The absolute deadest stick I've ever used. Exchanged it for a 7'3" Daiwa tatula elite omori. It had better sensitivity, but not quite as good as I wanted, plus the tip was a bit stiff for the 3/16 to 1/4 oz jigs I mostly use. Just happened to see the Dobyns flippin rods on sale and jumped on the 765. It has slightly better sensitivity than the omori, plus I can easily flip the 3/16 and 1/4 jigs. I also really like the full cork grip. Ive got an Loomis NRX, and it's not that sensitive, or as balanced and light, but for $350 less, it's more than worth the trade off.

Comments: I've the  765 flipping stick / I would love to give the rod 5 stars but like others I've had the guides come lose from the threading and epoxy ..not worth my time or money to send back in super glue will do until I toss it .  Shame as I paid $260 Sorry Dobyns but I'm far from the 1st with this problem on your champion series . Who ever is working this spot in your factory line needs retrained or put in another floor working station .

Comments: I've the 7'6 flipping rod .. very popular rod so I bought one .. I've had it two years now . Only I'm having problems with the guides coming out . Whoever's job it is to Epoxy in place needs to be trained better or moved to Another station . Ive also one fury rod / no problems .. but this XP edition has me so Turned off I won't be buying another dobyns rod .. having the guides come off from poor epoxy in my book is  unexceptable ..

Comments: Initial review of the 766. I really like this rod. I actually bought this rod for throwing 6.8 Keitechs and similar baits into thick pads. It works well for this. I'll probably also use it for swimjigs and chatterbaits from 3/4 oz and up. Many describe this rod as a one-trick pony that is only good for punching and heavy flipping. Not true. It's powerful but people overstate its stiffness. A couple annoying things for me: (1) the first guide is REALLY far up the blank (I know Dobyns did this on purpose); (2) the reel seat is quite stubby, leaving quite a gap on the underside between the locking nut and the other part (tough to describe). If you like really powerful rods and you fish thick stuff for big fish, check it out.

Comments: I've had a 765 for a couple years. Absolutely my favorite flipping stock for your standard 3/8-3/4oz flipping. It maxes out at 1oz, so not a punch rod. If you spend a lot of time flipping jigs or standard creature baits, this is your jam. Besides having a very crisp level of sensitivity, this model has a fairly soft top. You can accurately pitch as needed and when you lean on them, this rod has power with a more parabolic bend. What this means is unlike a normal flipping broomstick, this one has power to move the fish and just enough give to absorb big fish headshakes.

Comments: This rod is amazing for a flipping rod. Lightweight and very sensitive. Dobyns makes some quality rods!

From: Brandon: Lake Havasu City 4/4/17

Comments: I spent a lot of time comparing this rod to multiple ones on the market. IMX punch rod, iRod Bub Tosh, Powell & the DX series. The 805c balanced the best & had the right power for 2oz, including weight, trailer, skirt & hook. Save yourself some time & get it for heavy punching, you won't be disap

From: Brian: CA 9/17/16

Comments: Paired with my just-purchased Shimano Curado CU-70XG 8.2:1 & I caught my first "jig" fish. Extremely sensitive, felt every rock, bush & then the Bass!  Hooked me, now, too!
