Falcon Cara T7 McClelland Signature Micro Casting Rods - $249.99 to $299.99
Proudly made in the USA
BASS Elite Series veteran pro and multiple event winner, Mike McClelland, teamed up with Falcon to design the Falcon Cara T7 McClelland Signature Series Micro Guide Casting Rods. Featuring technique-specific actions and tapers perfectly suited to some of his favorite bass fishing applications, the series also includes premium micro guide technology. The combination of Falcon's ultra sensitive Cara graphite blanks and Fuji Micro Guides greatly decreases weight, increases sensitivity even further, and also provides better load distribution for optimum rod curvature. Additionally, the Micro Guides help neutralize the issue of line tangles, thanks in part to two non-fouling stripper micro guides closest to the reel, and they also help increase casting distance and accuracy.
Split Grip handles with premium cork grips help balance out each rod, and the fore grip was removed as well for greater sensitivity transfer. A Fuji Blank Exposed Reel Seat rounds out the premium features, and provides a strong base for your reel. Offering the performance and features McClelland uses to excel on the Elite Series, the Falcon Cara T7 McClelland Signature Series Micro Guide Casting Rods deliver tournament proven performance.

Comments: I purchased the 6'8" Cara T7 McClelland Micro Casting Rod. The T-W website and McClelland's videos say it's intended use is for jerkbaits, but you won't find "Jerkbaits" anywhere on the rod (at least not on mine). It is definitely a great jerkbait rod. It's light so it doesn't work the angler too hard, and the tip has just enough flex to make casting easy, but it's not "sloppy," so the energy of your twitches move the bait nicely. I also found that it's effective at working topwater walkers and poppers. Again, the perfect amount of flex makes working the bait like second nature. The only negative with this rod is I had to look at 3 of them in the store to find acceptable quality. One rod had a guide alignment issue (mine does too, however very slight), and surprisingly, I found a significant indentation in the other rod's blank that ran lengthwise about 12 inches long between the reel locking nut and the first guide. A reviewer of another Falcon rod on this site mentioned he had a Falcon rod blank split on him. I believe the indentation I found could result in such a split. Conclusion - very nice rod for its intended purpose, but I recommend inspecting closely in the store before purchasing if possible.

Comments: great rod I love it. It is much lighter and stronger with a bit stouter tip on the 7'2 and use it to flip light weight stuff like senkos and worms and tubes but I highly recommend getting this rod. Can't wait to fish with it for a whole day this weekend.
