G. Loomis Crankbait Casting Rods - $245.00 to $265.00
The first rods in Loomis's specialty rod lineup were the Crankbait Rods. A good crankbait rod needs to be relatively soft with a moderate mid-flex action that will not tear the lure away from the fish before it has a chance to get the bait securely. It also needs to be forgiving enough to not tear the hooks out when the fish lunges, especially near the boat. For many anglers the perfect crankbait rod used to be made of fiberglass. That was before G. Loomis blended a variety of graphites to make a rod with just the right action. With the sensitivity of graphite you can have the correct action to cast your crankbait, you can feel brush, rocks and the lightest strike, and you can successfully land your fish. Another big advantage is that the G. Loomis Crankbait rod is much lighter than the old fiberglass rods, so when you're on a good crank bite you can throw it for the whole tournament without wearing yourself out. These rods shine for ripping jerkbaits or working topwaters like Sammys or Zara Spooks, as well as tearing lipless crankbaits through the grass. We offer the entire lineup of Crankbait Rods with actions that work with any bait from tiny "finesse" cranks to deep, bottom dredgers like DD22's and heavy swimbaits. Try a Loomis Crankbait Rod and feel the difference.

Comments: I got the 785 & love it, picking up 783 for small cranks.
From: Brian
Comments: I have the 7'ML, 7'M and 7'MH. The ML is for 1/4oz traps and smaller square bills. Its also a great splash-it/rico rod. 10-12 lb line on this one. The 7'M is a perfect all around rod, if you want to buy just one Loomis CB rod, there it is. Everything but the biggest deep divers go well on this rod. I use 12 lb line on it and fish bigger traps, bigger square bills, spooks, and ripbaits. The 7'MH gets duty as my deep diver rod, as well as bigger wake baits like the Excalibur or SPro Shad. These are super light, an dnot as think as a broom stick, like some of the other crank rods out there. I really dont see how people hate these...Loomis haters are a dime a dozen. I went thru a ton of sub par cb rods before coming to these. Save money in the long run and just buy these.

Comments: Got the Cbr 903 best crankbait rod paired with the chronarch d5 a pair made in heaven.

Comments: I have the 7'MH crankbait (845). I really enjoy using the rod. It is well balanced and loads up great when hooked up, however I do not recommend throwing a DD22 with it even though its "rated" for lures up to 1oz. I have thrown a few on it and lets just say that those lures must be thrown delicately....I would stick with lures 3/4 oz or less and you'll really enjoy the rod.

Comments: By far the best rod i have ever used. I had a carrot stix but brought it back and got the 6'6". It is a great topwater as well.

Comments:I recently bit the bullet and bought my first Loomis rod an 845. Now I know why so many other rods are compared to Loomis rods. They set the scale without a doubt!
From:TM: Centre, AL
Comments:I bought the 843, 7' medium action, to throw small cranks like rapala dt4 and dt6 or bandit 100 and 200. I have been extremely pleased however with the way the rod performs with larger deeper diving cranks like bomber fat free shad #6, rapala dt10, and strike king series 4 and 5. Don't get me wrong it doesn't like the big boys like the dt16 and dt20 or a norman dd22. This rod will launch a medium crankbait a mile and you can still move in tight to cover and make accurate cast with a small bandit or square bill crank. This is the first rod i ever bought that cost more than a hundred dollars, and it took me a year to finally buy this one but it has already become my favorite rod
