G. Loomis Crankbait Deep Flex Casting Rods

$285.00 - $295.00

Featuring a totally new design concept that imparts a slower taper and softer flex, the G. Loomis Deep Flex Casting Rod Series provides anglers with the tools to fish crankbaits the way they were meant to be fished. Constructed from G. Loomis' proprietary graphite blended blanks, the Deep Flex Cranking Rods provide the forgiveness of fiberglass, while delivering the characteristic sensitivity and lightweight qualities of graphite. The softer tip and ideal flex of the G. Loomis Deep Flex Casting Rods help anglers increase their effectiveness with crankbaits in a variety of ways. For one, the soft tip allows the lures to wobble and vibrate freely, actually improving the lures’ action and delivering a more realistic and enticing presentation. The “deep flex” or parabolic action of the rod lets bass engulf the bait on strikes with very little resistance, and it is also very forgiving when the fish runs or jumps so you are less apt to lose them. Available in multiple technique-specific lengths and actions, the G. Loomis Deep Flex Casting Rod Series provides the versatility to fish a variety of crankbaits, as well as, the performance to allow anglers to work lures over and around cover the way they were designed, instead of being ripped through it. Premium Fuji Aconite Guides and Fuji ECS Reel Seats round out the high-caliber features and add to the rods' performance, and each rod is also equipped with longer rear grips for added control and to help reduce all-day casting fatigue. Rest assured, the G. Loomis Deep Flex Crankbait Rods provide the performance and features to fish crankbaits at their full potential.

Customer Reviews

Comments: i bought the cbr896df, its AWESOME. i can chunk a small square bill, or get that big crank deep. best cranking rod on the market. Super Sensitive, good job G LOOMIS.

Comments: I own the CBR906 it handles crank baits that run shallow and are 1/4oz or 3/8oz and it handles deep diving crank baits pretty good in the 1/2-3/4oz range. The handle is short aside from that the first 1.5ft bends when a fish hits the rest of the rod stays crisp, handles some big fish this past summer. Excellent crank bait rod for the money. Great tip "wiggle" when bringing baits in easy to detect weeds or bottom cover.

Comments: i really like this rod. i bought it about 3 months ago and have caught quite a few fish on it. i havent lost a fish yet! great feel and very sensitive. if you like to throw alot of lipless cranks and med. size cranks this is a great rod for it.  anything bigger than about 3/4 oz. is a harder to throw for long periods of time. but other than that this is an awesome all around crankin rod!

Comments:  I've had the 7'2" med hvy rod for about 2 months.  I haven't used it a whole let yet, maybe 12 hours (the crankbait bite has slowed a little bit).  First impressions, this rod is remarkably light and comfortable.  It casts 1/4 and 1/2 oz lipless cranks a mile as well as med to deep diving crankbaits. I have it paired with a Shimano Curado 300E at the moment (I'm still working out what reel and line I going to keep on there permanently).  I've tried 10 and 12lb mono, not getting the depth I think I should be yet, so I'm going with 6lb mono then 8lb flouro next.  This rod has enough flex to use with flouro lines.  I haven't lost a fish yet  and the 11 fish I've caught have all been hooked really well, the rods soft tip really allows the fish to take your crankbait deep.  It's absolutely wonderful for lipless and medium diving cranks, deep cranks seem to overpower the rod a little bit but they are still manageable.  The 7'5" is probably a better choice if you throw more deep diving cranks.
