For years, many manufacturers have pushed fiberglass rods for fishing crankbaits, claiming graphite rods are too stiff and react too fast. That’s partly true because fiberglass is softer and much slower reacting, but the unique design and graphite material used in G. Loomis GL2 Crankbait Rods has allowed G. Loomis to incorporate all the necessary elements required to fish a crankbait correctly into the rods.

Completely redesigned and updated, the G. Loomis GL2 Crankbait Casting Rods feature the soft, more moderate actions that are soft enough to let the lures work properly, and also allow the fish to inhale the bait, all while remaining very light, responsive, powerful and sensitive. Equipped with premium Fuji ACS Reel Seats and durable Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guides as well, the G.Loomis GL2 Crankbait Casting Rods also features a new, split-grip handle, engineered specifically for high performance bass fishing, including a unique, flat-sided fighting butt that provides additional ergonomic comfort for those who prefer to tuck the rod butt under their arm. GL2 783CBR. A great all around open-water crankbait rod designed to throw medium-sized crankbaits of all styles… shallow runners, lipless cranks and small deep-divers. Its ideal for shallow to medium-depths, especially where accuracy is more important than distance. It works well in close quarters due to the shorter length. It loads easily, is extremely lightweight and has more than enough power to handle big fish.

GL2 784CBR. A combination of a little more power and the ability to fish a broader range of crankbaits makes this an excellent choice for fishing jerkbaits, lipless-vibrating baits and square bills. It doesn't have the range of the longer rods, but it's excellent when fishing in close-quarters, especially where you need a little more power to keep fish away from weed edges, shore cover and brush.

It can handle all styles and sizes of crankbaits, and it also has the versatility to cover a lot of water and manage large fish. Designed to throw medium-sized crankbaits, it’s a great rod for deep-diving lures like a Fat Free Shad or Wiggle Wart, and will throw a Rat-L-Trap or a Lucky Craft LVR that proverbial country mile. It’s stout enough to handle big largemouth, but light enough to fish smallmouth baits with maximum accuracy and control. The extra length really helps with longer casts and fish-fighting control.

GL2 845CBR. When you have to resort to deep-diving crankbaits to dredge up a bass or two, this is the rod you’ll want. It’s extremely light and so sensitive you can feel a big bass watch your bait. Its slower action also allows your bait to work properly and absorb any move the fish makes. It's a great, long-distance casting rod for medium-sized deep-divers of 5/8's ounce or less, and is surprisingly powerful.
