Since bass are cover-oriented, the GL2 series feature the ideal actions to cast accurately, fish specific baits properly, and provide enough power to keep big bass coming toward the boat. Equipped with premium Fuji Reel Seats and durable Fuji Aluminum Oxide Guides, each rod also features a new, split-grip handle, engineered specifically for high performance bass fishing, including a unique, flat-sided fighting butt that provides additional ergonomic comfort for those who prefer to tuck the rod butt under or next to their arm. It’s a small thing but it can make a difference at the end of a long day. Offering the unique combination of power, sensitivity, finesse and actions that made the originals so popular, G.Loomis GL2 Jig & Worm Spinning Rods will do everything you ask and more. G.Loomis knows what you expect in a bass rod.
Comments: I have been Fishing with an 852 jig & worm rod this rod has a great feel in your hand as well as great sensitivity I have caught hundreds of fish in 20 -40 Ft. water in lake Mead. So this is a vary clear light line lake. I spool up with 30# suffix 883 and 6# fluorocarbon leader. What sensitivity!!!!

Comments: I have purchase the GL2 6'8" and 7'1" med. heavy rods and am very disappointed. I feel as though I'm fishing with a club. Very stiff and lack of sensitivity equals a lack of fish. I have purchase my last GLoomis rod.

Comments: Wow, great minds think alike! Like Bruce, I got the 853 and matched it with a Stradic CI4 (4000). I got this rod in March 2013 and caught more fish on this outfit than all my others combined last season. This very affordable rod has power, sensitivity, and finesse and is lightweight. I could cast this one all day without getting tired. Mostly used for jigs and texas rigs and got fish up to 5 pounds with no problems. Highly recommended!

Comments: flippin & pitchin for big bass down here is florida is the way to go. i believe that loomis rods are the best for my experience, i got the 7'1 heavy for grass and very heavy cover.

Comments: One of my favorite rods. The blank is awesome, the action is perfect. Only complaint I have is the cork and reel seat could be a little nicer maybe, some of the cork behind the reel seat came off (broke off) fairly easily. Might have just had a bad one out of the batch who knows. Hate to even complain about it, because like I said at first, it's one of my favorites. Very nice rod for the price.
