G. Loomis GLX Jig & Worm Cast Rod 6'8" Hvy 804C JWR

GLX 804C JWR. Here's where the "rubber meets the road!" This is a powerful rod for fishing jigs and plastic worms in close around heavy cover where short, accurate casts are critical to success. It's a real power rod that will haul a big bass out of the brush yet has enough tip to cast accurately. Light enough to fish all day and super sensitive.

G. Loomis GLX Jig & Worm Cast Rod 7'1" MH 853C JWR

GLX 853C JWR. An incredibly versatile bass rod! It has a light enough tip to allow you to cast small to medium-sized jigs with total control and accuracy, yet it’s powerful enough to drive the hook through a plastic worm and into a bass’ jaw with authority. The extra length creates higher tip speeds to help increase casting distance, but more importantly, it gives you plenty of power to set the hook in deep water. GLX pushes the sensitivity meter off the chart!

G. Loomis GLX Jig & Worm Cast Rod 7'1" XH 855C JWR

GLX 855C JWR. When you're fishing deep water with lots of brush or trees - this rod will keep you in total control. It's important to move the hook when you swing, so the stiffer, more powerful the rod the higher the hook-up rate. In spite of the magnum power it generates, it's still light and extremely sensitive. When you set the hook, you know something's got to give - and it's not going to be the rod!!

Comments: Just got my 6'8"MH-XF GLX in the mail - & I'll be returning it. I got it to upgrade from my old grey-blank Cumara but it's not an upgrade. There's a slight gap between the rear cork grip & reel seat, & visible glue by the trigger. Unacceptable on a $400 rod. It's almost an ounce heavier (4.8 oz vs. 3.9 oz) with more weight toward the tip. It is not as rigid as the Cumara & flexes more with 1lb weight tied to tip. Reels sit much farther rearward than any of my other rods (including my NRX and Mossyback) so my fingers contact the gear-housing of any reel I put on it, making palming very uncomfortable. It looks and feels like Shimano's green Crucial blank ($180) with different hardware. This is not the GLX of years past. Very disappointed.

Comments: I was using NRX rods for jigs, thought I had the best, boy was I wrong, the GLX is a much more powerful & much better rod for the required hookset on jigs. I bought the 755c, love it, absolutely love it. One problem that you all need to be aware of. you will have to get another one, and another one, they are addicting, I want one for every jig I own, haha. They literally are that much fun to fish. I got the 894c and I believe that to be the single perfect jig rod made. There is nothing better for jigs than the new GLX's, plus you'll save some $ over the NRX's & get a better rod for jigs.

Comments: This rod is one of my favorites. It is definitely tough. The reel seat is different and may take a little getting used to. The guides are placed intelligently as opposed to just throwing a great number of em on a blank and passing it off as quality. Reacts good, fights fish, good. I think you'll love this rod.

Comments: I Honestly never thought a rod could be this sensitive, its truly amazing. I was a little worried about the power of this rod considering its so light and sensitive but I got a real test the other day pulled a 7 pounder out of some real thick brush. The combination of power and sensitivity is incredible.

Comments: I got to fish with one if these a couple weeks ago can't wait to get enough money to order one. Sweet rods.

Comments: to those concerned about the lock dwon nut on these. this is NOT THE SAME as the nrx. the reel seats on these are one piece.the threads for the lock down nuts on the nrx rods are epoxied to the blank and not atached to the reel seat. the glx reel seat and threads for the lockdown nut is all one assembly. all of the problems i had with the nrx had to do with the epoxy for the threads of the lock down nut not holding. so far the glx'x have been solid. hope this helps

Comments: Got myself an 854 and it was worth every penny!  I couple it with a Revo Premier (Gen3) and it's one of the baddest combos out there.  So sensitive, light and jaw-breaking power!

Comments: I will get this rod! Picked one up at bass pro and gooooooooood lord, ff I was over 7ft tall it would've went down my pants and out the door! But unfortunately it looks like I'll be having to cough up the money for this bad boy. I'm not even worried about if its gonna be worth it or not b/c from what i felt I know it will be. :) Good job Shimano, keep up the good work. ;)

Comments: Best Jig rod made. Light and well Balanced. You can feel grains of sand on the bottom. If you invest in only one expensive rod, ever, this should be the one.
