G. Loomis IMX Casting Mag Bass Rods

G. Loomis has taken the new G. Loomis IMX Mag Bass Casting Rods to a whole new level thanks to major improvements in IMX technology and new concepts in rod design. The original IMX Rods were the Series that put G. Loomis on the map as the leader in graphite technology. Over 20 years have passed since then, and a lot has changed in the bass fishing world, but IMX is still at the forefront of rod performance and technology.

Up to 15% lighter than the original IMX, the new series continues to push the envelope with surprising power-to-weight ratios and impressive sensitivity. The Mag Bass Series still features the light tip sections and the magnum tapered butt section for the perfect combination of casting distance and lure control along with hooksetting and fish fighting power. New, slender ergonomic handles also provide increased comfort and control, and Fuji K-Frame guides offer incredible durability and also protect the tip section from braided line wrap. Offering technique-specific performance like only G. Loomis and IMX can, the G. Loomis IMX Mag Bass Casting Rods leave no doubt about what’s going on at the end of your line.

Customer Reviews

Comments: I replaced an old 843 with the new version. Yes, the old version seems to weigh less, which bummed me out. Anyone new to Loomis and checking this rod out in a shop probably wont buy it, it DOES feel tip heavy and unbalanced. But then you put a reel on it. Somehow, it all works. Of course, it's just as sensitive as my old 843, the hook keeper is better, and I do like the trigger even though I thought I wouldn't. It does feel like it has a little more backbone than the old 843. I fished a worm on it yesterday and whacked several fish. I approve.

Comments: Purchased the 7' MH and paired it with a lews team pro and it is simply amazing how light the combo is. while the rod is a little tip heavy with such a light reel its not as bad as you would think. spooled the combo up with 17lb floro and have been using it for lighter jigs around rocks and in deeper water. plan on purchasing an IMX wrom and jig for thick cover and docks soon.

Comments: Rods look great, but are tip heavy. The guides are actually large, larger than the guides on the previous MBR series. I have been using G Loomis exclusively for the past 15 years and recently I have been disappointed in their offerings.  This new lineup for the IMX is another one, tip heavy, large guides twist near the tip under load, $300 and not even SIC guides.

Comments: I purchased the 7' Heavy and paired it with a Calais 201 DC. I'm really impressed with this rod. Loomis has never let me down and the new IMX is no exception. Extremely light, sensitive and powerful. Fast shipment as well. I have a feeling I'll be getting another one of these sooner than later!
