Best Small Size FrogI've narrowed it down to 3 hollow bodied frogs that I rotate depending on the situation. For full size frogs, I like the Spro Bronzeye 65 and the River2sea Bully Wa 2. For smaller frogs it's the Jackall Kaera all day long. This little frog is awesome. Hands down the best walking frog that I've found. It comes through cover great and stays upright. Despite the smaller size, I wouldn't hesitate to throw it anywhere I'd throw the Bronzeye or Bully Wa. Durability is fine, the eyes will pop out but you can glue them back if you want. It doesn't hurt the effectiveness of the frog whatsoever. I really never change my setups for frog fishing. The rod is either a Daiwa DX Type LT Frog Rod or a Dobyns Champion XP 736. Sunline FX2 braid 50lb test and a 8 speed gear ratio Daiwa or Shimano reel. There's no give anywhere in that equipment and I've never flexed the hooks on the Kaera frogs. The hook ups are great and my strike to catch ratio is probably 90%+ with these. You catch numbers and size and the big ones just inhale it. One other small detail that I like is the length of the legs or skirt is perfect. I still haven't tried the Megabass Big Gabot but honestly if I had to choose just one frog it would be a tough choice between this one and the old reliable Bronzeye 65. I've experimented with plenty of frogs and these are at the top of the list for my money. Yet another winning bait for Jackall. Please excuse the length of the review. I try to leave detailed, specific reviews for anglers and give useful information they may help someone make a decision. Great job Jackall and TW!!

Comments: They need to increase the size/weight. I have six of these - all have some issue or another - ripped/deformed from the factory, don't compress correctly - whatever - they're still too small and you need an XFast frog rod tip - they will destroy your shoulder trying to get casting distance on them.

From: Unknown: 8/15/23

Comments: Has been the go to frog for me for a few years. Was reminded why a few days ago. Went 6 for 6 on bites in a creek recently with a couple 4 pound fish. Most of them choked it, some closer to the lips. They tear up pretty easy. Eyes are the first to go. I caught my at the time PB of 7lbs 2 oz on it. Catches fish over grass, in shade, over wood. DIFFICULT ROD CHOICE. All caps because no other reviews mention it. I caught 20 fish on the same kaera one day on a grassy lake in oklahoma. Ended up snapping my rod. It was a 703 g-loomis. Switched to a 72M Shimano Clarus, and its working a lot better. Its a LIGHT frog, so rod choice is important for accuracy and distance, and I wish all the prior comments had said their favorite rod for it because it's a tough choice.

Comments: Hands down the best frog on the market. I've fished pretty much all of them Bobby's perfect frog, River 2 Sea Bullywah, Scum Frog and they are all good, but the Kaera has produced some big fish of 8 & 9 pounds. Caught a 30lb bag on Okeechobee with this little guy. Great hooks and they compress when bit for great hook up ratio and they walk perfectly. I still boil mine and bend the hooks out but you can fish them straight out of the package. You won't regret buying this frog.

From: Sampson : Florida 6/28/23

Comments: Only frog I'll ever use again, my hookup ratio increased, and I got more bites. I've even caught a territorial bullfrog on these frogs ha-ha. My favorite color is the darker blue gill color.

From: Kaden: TN 6/16/23

Comments: They're WAAAY smaller than I thought they'd be!! Small bait, small hook. Haven't fished em yet, buy worried about casting distance.

From: Scott Douglas: Sutherlin, Or 7/12/22

Comments: Ive had very good success with these small frogs. I have the white and the bluegill. Fished a pond last week and caught 7 on the bluegill color with 2 of them >5 lb ! I agree with the other review below about these eyes falling off, but doesn't seem to matter. Tight lines !

From: Mike G: Cumming, GA 7/8/22

Comments: This is for all those who had their Jackall frog ripped on them. I have tried to sew them together with thread, and sadly it worked too well. Instead of preventing the ripping of the frog further, chunks of the area that was sown came off on a hook set. But what I find works is crazy gluing clear tape on (I didn't glue the ripped frog back together and left it like that). This is for the area of the belly. So far it hasn't picked up much water, and the frog collapses fine when hooked. I just glue taped the area of the nose. Curious to see if it helps there. I love these frogs, hook-up ratio is great. Just wished they had a popper frog version of this.

From: Unknown: California 7/3/22

Comments: Quickly became my go-to frog, it flat out nails them. Not very durable though. splits on belly near hook after a few hooksets and mend-it or plastic welding does not work on it. Eyes also fall off pretty fast. Don't let the size of this frog deter you, it gets the big-uns too. I do bend the hooks out a little.

From: Paul: California 5/8/22

Comments: Have not fished frog yet but it is slightly off on weight advertised. .41oz./11.6 grams. Hopefully it casts well.

From: Rich: Missouri 12/28/21

Comments: Lovie this little frog by jackall. I've been using this frog for a while and it's still holding up. It walks great they have great colors it cast far it has a fantastic hook up ratio straight out of the package. I don't bend the hooks at all if you do bend the hooks up slightly no doubt your gonna stick them. no need to boil it its soft enough to collapse if there is anything you would have to do to this frog its trimming the legs and that's it. the eyes do fall off after your smashing some fish but honestly I feel it doesn't matter. One day I was just reeling it in to see how the frog was holding up and I had to look very closely to see if the eyes came off. couldn't really tell it still looked like it had eyes lol. But anyways I'm new at frog fishing and I smash them on this frog I've caught big fish and small fish on it and the paint job is holding up really well. Highly recommend

Comments: my favorite frog already after first time using it, this thing cast a mile for its size and have great walking lure using short twitch rod action and I didn't even tie a loop knot. Great frog if your looking for numbers but im sure sooner or later i'll get a hog on it no doubt and probably gonna buy 1 or 2 more. Hooks are solid you don't really need to bend them but u can if u like. Only wish they had a few more colors and patterns and hope they make a slightly bigger version in the future.

From: Unknown: 7/26/21

Comments: Love this little frog, I first used it in Wisconsin on the Mississippi river after no success with a Megabass Big Gabot. Turned a zero fish day into 10. Its a great size without being too small to cast. I've found it to be pretty easy to walk, but it does tend to fill with water after a few casts

From: Ty: 5/24/21

Comments: This has become my go to confidence frog!  I love the fact that it is a little smaller than most.  If I am struggling to get the frog bite going, I always tie this baby on!

From: Robert: Mississippi 2/25/21

Comments: The white one was money for me last year.. did better then any other colors - perfect size frog - no need to bend out the hooks - it's ready to go from the box . Highly recommended.

From: Dean: Lake Mead, NV 12/31/20

Comments: Good quality frog that works. The only thing I don't like about it is it sets very low in the water. Meaning the top of the frog is almost flush with the water surface. I like to make sure the fish has it before I set the hook. This one is a little hard to see if they got it or just rolled on it.

From: Unknown: 7/13/20

Comments: Could be my favorite frog for colors, easy to walk, doesnt hang up and small but enough weight for easy casting. But durability a question caught 5 bass before frog tour up bought 3 frogs hopefully the next 2 dont tear that easy. Because this could be my go to frog

From: Larry: Jacksonville, FL 6/19/20

Comments: Warning for people thinking this weighs 1/2 oz and thinking about bombing it like your other frogs. It's no where its written weight. Weighs 3/8oz on a accurate scale, highly disappointed as this was recommended from Tactical Bassin and made from a great lure maker.

From: BX: Minnesota 6/13/20

Comments: This an amazing frog, with great hooks and great colors. It walks amazingly and turns out of the way of the hooks when bite occurs. The real special thing about this frog is it is small, but still weighs a half of an ounce. It casts a tremendous distance and is plenty durable.

From: Arden: Florida 5/7/20

Comments: I have bought 3 of these frogs here, and for good reason! 5 reasons why I buy these over any other:
1. They all float! No worries about them sinking out of the box!!
2. They catch fish, and I mean big bass even on its small size Caught my pb 7lb an 10 ounces and not even a single bend in the hook considering that was my 16 bass on the same frog so quality lure!
3.  Quality! If your read number 2 then you know why
4. Color schemes are great along with the action which makes it very versatile given the scenario
5. I out fish my fishing partner 3 times with this frog and let me tell you he throws the spro which is a good one to but i have come out on top every time with the jackall!!

From: Unknown: 10/19/19

Comments: Great little frog. very impressed very good hook for the small size and very weedless. You may have to bend the hook out a little as its very tight to the body of the frog. The legs skirts are exactly the right size so no need to trim. highly recommend.

From: Tim: 10/17/19

Comments: I am not one to write reviews on things but from my experience last night i figure i needed to on this lure. I accidentally set the hooks into a TREEpounder in some really thick stuff. Water was pretty shallow so i couldnt use my trolling motor to retrieve the lure so i literally pulled my 19' nitro to the lure so i could get it from the tree. What amazed me was the hooks were still in mint condition, i was shocked they didnt bend out even a little bit. Pretty impressive. As far as walking the dog with this bait, incredible. Cast ability? phenomenal. If your looking for a smaller profile frog that you can cast a mile, walks from side to side with slight twitches of the rod and hooks arent going to bend out on you. This is definitely a great  option. Only con is i wish there where some different colors available. But all around 5 star lure.

From: Levi: Oklahoma 6/25/19

Comments: Another Amazing Frog from Jackall! This little frog is a Giant Slayer! Walks easily, pops and makes the most tantalizing slash on the cast!

From: Unknown: Apopka, FL 6/15/19

Comments: The bait is great. Its a smaller profile and gets bites. BUT it is extremely fragile if you buy this frog buy a bottle of superglue as well. Hook ups are great and it casts very well. Hooks are extremely sharp and sturdy. This bait will definitely be used more this summer. Caught over 100 on it already and its still in 1 piece.

From: Ian: Alabama 4/22/19

Comments: Bought 5 or 6 different types of frogs to fish with! From spitting wah frog to the dean spro series. This by far worked the best!! Used the blue gill shad color.  We fished two big ponds with everything from heavy matts to wooded cover. Caught a total of 14 bass in two days. Yes it is a little beat up, but so it is with all frogs. Great hook up ratio, walks great, and sits a little lower in the water so when a big bass hits it the frog doesnt fly away. Highly recommend! fishing was in Ga and Florida.

From: Uknown: 6/10/18

Comments: I have a box full of 50 or more topwater frogs all in assorted sizes, colors, brands, etc. I bent one of the hooks out on this frog on the first fish I caught which was a sub 2 pounder. Two fish later and the body of the frog was completed destroyed as well. I wasn't using excessively heavy equipment either, 50lb Suffix braid and a softer "heavy" action rod fishing it in open water. For what it's worth the paint job and action on this frog were both good, and the smaller size definitely has its place. However I think there are much better options on the market.

From: Unknown: 5/22/18

Comments: Bought this frog as soon as it came out and what can I say, the past 2 weeks it has caught tons of BIG bass, don't let the little compact size fool you, this finesse frog catches monsters! My first time fishing with it I caught a 9.6lb MONSTER, along with 2 more five pounders! This frog has an amazing hook up ratio action and cast ability, given the durability isn't that of a SPRO frog, this thing is a killer! Have put more than 30 pounds of bass in the boat for my best 5 on strictly this little thing! Pick one up you won't be disappointed!

From: Lucien: California Delta 5/15/18

Comments: Amazing finesse frog. It's got the profile of a smaller frog and the spitting action of a much larger one (if you choose to work it like a popping frog). It's also infinitely more weedless than Jackall's Iobee, and walks about as well. I landed every fish that blew up on it, and I was fishing next to my friend throwing the LiveTarget Kopper, one of my other go-to frogs; I got hit 6 times and landed 6, to his 2 missed fish. However, I can't sing nonstop praises, as my light braid cut right through the bottom of the frog on the second fish. I managed to hold it together with super glue, but it's most likely not a permanent solution. Kind of sucks, for a 10 dollar frog, but I'll probably end up buying some more due to the amazing hookup ratio and action it has.

From: Sunbae: Dallas, TX 3/25/18

Comments: Best frog out on the market!! Cast a mile, walks soooo easy and doesn't fill with water. Bend out the hooks a little and hook up ratio is great!!

From: Phil: Orange Park Fl 1/21/18

Comments: Awesome finesse frog that walks like a dream, comes through cover well and pushes a lot of water. So far I am 100% on hook ups in heavy cover. Bass seem to really choke this one.  Even with smaller size it still cast a mile.

From: Leonard - NC 11/4/17

Comments: Awesome mini finesse frog. Casts great, perfect hookup ratio.

From: Kevin: Chicago area 11/3/17

Comments: One of the better recent frogs to come out on the market. Very weedless even in the thickest of cover while having a collapsable yet durable body to always drive the hooks in when a bass engulfs it. It has just a small enough profile where it can get those shy fish to commit to it while making it easy enough to walk and casts greatly. The unique shape of its bottom compared to most frogs on the market today gives it a completely different profile when it lands in the water and causes bass to hit it at the end of your cast so be ready for some quick hook sets. The only downside to the frog is that the eyes are glued on and will rip off after a days worth of bass but it seems the fish don't care too much. Great frog to add to your arsenal for those days when your're out fishing for some smallies or when the fish are heavily pressured.

From: Unknonwn 10/4/17

Comments: Awesome mini frog, even though its small its still got a pretty heavy weight in it, so It can still be casted a long ways. It walks great for a small frog and the hook-up ratio is very good. Definitely has a spot in my frog box!
