Delivering multi-functional performance in a great space-saving design, the Lowrance HDS-5 Fishfinder/GPS Chartplotter features award-winning fish-finding technology, combined with the latest GPS Chartplotter capabilities. Viewing performance is also exceptionally enhanced with its exclusive, high-resolution 5”/12.7 cm 256-color SolarMAX PLUS daylight display with adjustable screen and keyboard backlighting. The HDS-5 display also provides anglers with Split Screen Presentation, as well as, Sonar and GPS Overlay for quick readings at a glance and improved functionality. New menu displays also deliver quicker and easier access to features.

The internal, ultra-precise 16-channel GPS+WAAS Antenna delivers faster time-to-signal lock and now has the added benefit of incredible, built-in Lowrance Insight cartography: Lake Insight for US Inland Waters and the Great Lakes, Nautical Insight Coverage for detailed US Coastal Waters coverage, and for areas other than the Americas the Navionics World Background map is available. The GPS/Navigation unit also allows anglers to store up to 5,000 waypoints, 200 routes and up to 10 trails with 12,000 points/trails. Various custom mapping options and updates are also available.

The revolutionary, built-in Broadband Sounder is capable of seeing fish in, around and even through structures, at great depths and at high speeds. Serving as the vital link between the transducer and your HDS display, the Broadband Sounder uses a highly-sensitive digital filtering process, capturing targets that are often missed by less powerful sounders as sharp, crisp images. The 83/200 kHz dual-frequency Skimmer transducer sends out a maximum of 250-watts Peak to Peak (31W RMS; 30,000W Peak to Peak analog equivalent) sonar power, down to a maximum depth of 5,000 ft. The entire Lowrance HDS-5 unit is also sealed and waterproofed with built-in Backup Memory capabilities for exceptional durability. Each Lowrance HDS-5 Fishfinder/GPS Chartplotter also includes additional features and available upgrades:

FishTrack – when using in conjunction with Advanced Fish I.D. (also included), the digital depth is displayed directly above each fish symbol. It is especially helpful for making quick and precise lure presentations to the correct depths.

FlashGraf – combines a scrolling sonar target graph with a digital LCD flasher. This allows the angler to view two of the most popular ways of finding fish all one screen.

FasTrack – a selectable on/off feature. It displays flasher-style sonar returns in a narrow vertical column at the far right of the sonar screen.

Fish Symbol I.D. – interprets sonar echos and displays them as fish symbols in up to four different sizes. Ideal for shallow water.

Ping Speed HyperScroll – locates and displays fish targets at higher boat speeds with increased soundings per second.

Advanced Signal Processing (ASP) – automatically fine-tunes your sonar settings for the clearest underwater viewing. It also filters out “clutter” that interferes with sonar signals.

FishReveal – when viewing actual sonar returns, it exposes fish targets hiding in underwater cover, like surface clutter, thermoclines, and weed beds. It also features 10 levels of gray tones that are adjustable for the most revealing look in virtually any underwater environment
