Overview
Designed by Luck-E-Strike, the Luck-E-Strike Freak Deep Diving Crankbait sports an odd square bill that helps achieve a 20 foot diving depth. This specialized lip design also reduces cranking resistance and gives the lure a “hydrodynamic image” that’s different from any other deep diver. Due to the bill design, shallow square bill crankbaits are well known for their deflective capabilities, Luck-E-Strike took those same characteristics and applied them towards a deep diving crankbait. Due to the unique bill design, snags and hangups are greatly reduced. Anglers can now fish with confidence knowing that stick-ups, stump fields and timber won’t slow them down. Backed with quality split rings and treble hooks, the Luck-E-Strike Freak Deep Diving crankbait is available in several proven color combinations.
Luck-E-Strike | Length | Weight | Depth |
Freak 1 | 1.75" | 1/4oz | 6-10ft |
Freak 2 | 2.5" | 1/2oz | 13ft |
Freak 3 | 3" | 3/4oz | 16-22ft |

Comments: I bought 2. A medium size and the large size. The medium size is great. Runs true, tighter wobble than I expected. The large one was disappointing. After only a dozen or so casts a crack developed in the bill and the bait also started taking on water. It sinks now and won't dive properly.

Comments: I had the exact same issue as Jonny from CA. I bought the smallest one available and it planed on the water. Dove maybe 4 feet and twisted my line so much I had to re-spool. My high hopes were crushed.

Comments: Best underrated deep diving crankbait out there. Flat out catches fish in depths from 14 to 18ft range. Series 2 copper green is the bomb! This bait will always make sure your in the strike zone. If your fishing shallow water just reel in this bait slower than normal and it will deflect off the bottom making this bait workable in all depth ranges. Dont reel in fast or dig it hard when you know structure is around. Work it slow so it will do its job deflecting itself from objects or yes you will get hung up constantly. Once you know how and when to use it this bait will make you a believer.

Comments: Finally made it out to somewhere I could throw this deep diver. It definitely dives deep. First cast and it hooked a respectable fish. We fish an old dredge lake with a lot of concrete and rebar in it. We loose a lot of lures. The Freak came through it very well until I got overconfident and hung it up on a spot known to hang up any and ever lure. We joke about getting some scuba gear on and stocking up a whole new tackle bag with the lures we'd find in that one spot.

Comments: I fish the ohio river and lets just say its not a "big" fish produced for those of you who are used to catching 7 to 10 pound bass, but this bait catches fish period. One day of fishing this FREAK produced 2 3 pound smallies and believe it or not a 20lb muskie. I will continue to use this bait as one of my go-to lures from here on out

Comments: i bought 1 of these and i was excited 2 get out on the lake and try it out. well when it came in the mail it looked like a big piece of cheap plastic but i thought well maybe im wrong... um nope. 1st cast it fliped over on top of the water so i finessed it down to get it 2 dive and it would barely touch at 14ft. 4th cast it got hung up on a pea gravel point haha so when i retrieved it i retired it might use it for an ornament in my room.
Comments: Also, someone need to come out with a Deep diver in (Rainbow Trout) color! Thanks TW!

Comments: Genius design, I fished it on 17lbs. mono. down channel edges in 14ft of water. It out produced everything else we all threw. Thanks Rick this one is a winner

Comments: This Is an awesome bait. It gets down deep faster than others, deflects great off bottom cover, has a little less resistance than other deep divers, and it flat out catches fish! The only thing I would change is the hooks. I have had a couple bend, but that was after 30 or so fish. I am a crankbait guy and this thing will catch fish deep all day

Comments: I have purchased a bunch of these cranks so far. They really are a deep diving crank. They run true out of the box, the hooks are sharp and the color selection is great for clear water. Clunn is a master cranker but the only negative is that I have had 1 break on me already!! As compared to a typical deep diving crank where the bill is the width of the bait, this bill is quite narrow where it connects to the lure possibly making a weak point. It completely broke there and I cant swivel the bill now. I have emailed Luck-E-Strike but haven't heard back yet. Not sure if this one was defective or a design flaw.....I use them in a river and not sure if they can truely hold up to the challenge yet....If it didnt break I'd rate it 10 out of 10, since it did I would say 2 out of 10. We'll see about the others I haven't used yet.

Comments: I recently purchased 3 of these and was sincerely disappointed. Seemed to hang on every piece of wood. Hung up four casts in a row and I took it off.

Comments: This bait catches 'em----very well made. Blue Claw and Tasty Shad have done well for me. Love the action and it will get down there. No complaints about the hooks. Can't wait to try the new smaller body size when they release it this fall that will also reach the same depths
