Overview

Engineered and perfected by members of Megabass' prostaff, like Luke Clausen, Edwin Evers, Chris Zaldain, and Randy Blaukat, the Megabass S Crank 1.5 was designed for one thing –winning. Honed to a razor's edge over two-years, the Megabass S Crank 1.5 features a patented design that generates an erratic wobble and a wide hunting action that moves laterally off-course, but always returns back to center.

To lessen hang-ups, the Megabass S Crank 1.5 is built with a high-buoyancy and a precisely shaped square bill that helps to keep the razor sharp trebles from snagging. Available in a number of professionally developed colors, the Megabass S Crank 1.5 delivers tournament-grade performance that serious anglers can count on to tempt bass in shallow waters.

Comments: I've cooled greatly on Megabass due to a few factors, but the S-Crank 1.5 is a great lure. It might be my favorite one that they currently have in production. It consistently out-fishes most other square-bills I own. It's hunting action is effective and fun to fish. It's so good that they will likely drop it for something much more complex and weird. The hooks dull quickly for a lure of this price, but I haven't experienced the bending many others report on Megabass lures. The "secret gill" color has also worn okay for me. It works well in slightly turbid waters and on overcast days. There are at least six other Japanese lure companies that make some lures that are as good or better than most Megabass offerings. I haven't found any that beat the S-Crank 1.5, though.

Comments: These cranks are Big Bass Slayers. they have a perfect combination of color, action and cover deflection. For my money the 1.2's are great at what they do if you fish shallower water or rivers and ponds. some people might be surprised at the size of the 1.5's compared to your average 1.5 on the market. Check out the Gizzard or phantom color for clear water and Black/chart or Kinkuro for stained water.

Comments: The paint job on the E2 is fantastic- one of the best I've ever seen in my life. A must have for your cranking collection

Comments: This is my favorite square bill to fish in the summer and fall. It comes through cover extremely well. I feel like you have to try to get this thing hung up. You can slow roll it or my favorite way to fish it is to burn it on a 7.1:1 reel and it won't blow out. This thing flat out catches fish. I'm a little disappointed in the quality of hooks that come on these being its a $20 crank so you will definitely need to upgrade the trebles because the stock ones are premium garbage. Other than the stock hooks these cranks are certified fish catchers.

Comments: This is my go to square bill crank bait. I just bought them this spring, started to use it this year. I have fished it allot and I always catch fish on it. I catch big ones little ones just about everything on it. The action is crazy on it how it hunts. I would want to cry if I lost one but very much worth the money. Matter of fact I have caught so many on it I have worn out the hooks on it. I fish it off the rocks allot this is why I wore out the hooks besides having caught probably 100 bass on it over the past few months. I will be getting a few more in different colors. the one I throw now is black back yellow. Fantastic bait!!!

Comments: Fishing square bills around cover is one of my favorite ways to catch them. This is one of the best that I have tried. The paint jobs on these baits are perfect. This is a sexy looking bait that flat out catches fish. I have had the most luck with the 1.5 size in Secret Gill color. Yes, they are expensive, but to me it is worth it. I've had the same bait well over a year and all I've had to do is switch the hooks. The paint is still perfect.

Comments: The 1.5 size has worked best for me.  Very impressed with how they come thru laydown trees without hanging up, action seems to be different than other square bills.  Shad colors have worked best.

Comments: I fish square bills an absolute ton at my favorite lake & always do well. These are no exception. I've slaughtered the bass with them. I own most of the colors & sizes. My favorites thus far are Secret Gill, Chartreuse Black Back & Sexy French Pearl. The paint is fairly durable, but could be better. The ones I use a lot are already getting scarred up pretty bad. But I am constantly banging them through brush & along the bottom, so it's not a huge concern. I will say this. I'm not totally sold on these considering the price. They have performed on par with my KVD square bills, but they have not outperformed them so far this season. Hoping that changes as the water clears up.

Comments: Works great but after one day my Kinkuro color is mostly gone. Paint comes off far too easy for the money.

From: Jay: MA 6/2/16

Comments: WOW! I am blown away by this lure! I cannot believe how amazing these are. I tried them out & tore the bass up. Megabass is on to something here. They do catch the big ones that is for sure!

Comments: This lure is a game changer. its a sb on steroids it excels in typical sb situations but you can through it in open water and get bite because of the swim action its almost like a glide bait that wobbles as it swims side to side but bait develops hook rash very quickly other than that ten out of ten

From: Joey: TN 12/10/15

Comments: i bought the black and chartreuse s crank and fished it for a hour after the plastic and jig bites died, i caught four fish (three black bass and a walleye) i was impressed because on the same lake in similar conditions other square bills have yielded less in the same time in the water.

From: Chris: Kansas City, MO 7/29/15

Comments: I purchased 2 of the S cranks firecraw and megabass sexy shad after hearing all the hype and watching the video. even though they are expensive and I would hate to loose one these s cranks flat out catch em. went out over memorial weekend  and tore them up. crazy action. I had to go down to one of my lower ratio reels cause there is so much vibration with a 7:1 reel it felt like I was reeling in a 3 lb. fish With the 5:4 reel it was perfect. Good quality had no problem sticking fish and keeping them on with the stock hooks and seemed to come through wood and light grass no problem. Caught over 30 largies between the two and both cranks look pretty much new with a few scratches. If I can catch em like that I don't mind paying extra $ time will tell we'll see how the summer goes

From: Todd: Midwest 5/27/15

Comments: Best square bill on the planet. These totally do work they hunt back & forth & go back to straight I use a rapala knot so the bait can totally do its thing no restrictions. Yea the detail on these baits second to none. The best reaction strike square on earth that's for sure. I bought almost all the colors for every water type i use a 8 pound 9 foot flouro leader with seaguar smackdown braid and they work flawless. worth every penny.
