Comments: Looked for a straight shank hook to texas rig roboworms on for a while. Stumbled on this hook at a local tackle shop and loved it. The 4/0 is the perfect size for 6" Fat straight tail worms. The keeper on these works great and doesn't tear up the soft roboworms. Tried the owner cover shots, although they are very sharp I just did not feel as comfortable texas rigging them being they are so much smaller and thinner.

Comments: When the smallmouth spawn on the lake I live on it is basically batting practice. 100 fish days are no joke when its calm, sunny and mid week. I never get there because I start feeling sorry for the fish pretty quickly. Anyhow, with this said I use this as an opportunity to test equipment more than anything. This year I really focused on the hooks and I have to say, this hook, in 3/0 when fishing a 3.5" beaver bait probably outperforms any other hook on the market. Honestly the only hook I think may come close is the Gamakatsu Offset EWG in 1/0. I went through 3 different straight shank hooks from different brands and 2 other EWG from different brands and this hook and the Gama Offset EWG are completely in a league of there own it was not even close. I probably landed the first 30 fish I came across after first tying this hook on and was completely blown away. I like this hook because its slightly stronger than the Gamakatsu but the Gamakatsu prolongs the life of the bait with very little sacrifice to the hookset. Also the Gamakatsu is probably better suited for noobs fishing lighter gear due to its lighter wire.

Comments: I like the idea, the way these hooks hang on tight to plastics with its version of a keeper. One YouTube reviewer showed his technique where he penetrates the plastic's "nose" and comes out just a bit deeper than with other hooks. I've tried this just making certain I have the rigging down correctly. *** One very interesting observation? I bought 4/0s and 3/0s and they are just  . . . very small, not so much in their shaft lengths but in their gape measurement. A 4/0 looks about the size of a 2/0 to me. So, I doubt I'll be rigging up in heavy bodied creature baits, likely use these with skinny worms, drop shot presentations and so on.

Comments: I found this hook after trying the larger flipping hook and loving it.  This is what i rig robo's in brush piles and baby brush hogs with because the body is so thin.  Never gave me any issues and they keep the bait where it should.

Comments: These are the best Texas rig hooks on the market! Their not for flipping, they are a finesse style hook. They are extremely sharp and durable! I use these exclusively for texas rigging soft plastics.

Comments: My favorite texas rig hook. Obviously not for flipping heavy cover, but I've never had one fail me. Grip pin is flat and holds plastics well, better than their previous grip pins. Sharp as hell. I keep 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 in the box for senko's, worms, lizards and other thinner plastics. Anything thick, I use the same hook just the heavy flipping version.

Comments: @john try the regular grip pin max for flipping. i use these for dropshot because its a finesse hook and it works amazing. better than trokar because the hook point doesnt roll as easily

From: Joe: Spokane,Washington

Comments: These hooks are not good for flipping. They bend very easily with braid. Might be ok with Fluro. The paycheck hook is the strongest by far. Spend the money on them
