Overview
The Mustad KVD Elite Short Shank Triple Grip Red Treble Hook has been specially engineered by the 7-Time Angler of the Year, Kevin Van Dam, to give a remarkably distinct advantage. Now offered in red, making it a great option for those anglers who prefer using red hooks on their topwater lures and crankbaits, the KVD Elite Short Shank Red Treble Hook features a 2X shorter shank. The 2X shorter shank eliminates hook tangling that sometimes occurs on shorter bodied crankbaits and also allows anglers to get away with a larger hook. For instance, it is recommended to replace Size 4 hooks with the KVD Size 2.
Made with Mustad’s 4.3 Microsharp Point Technology, which keeps hooks sharper for longer, the 1X strong hooks provide superior power and rock solid hook sets. Additionally, the short shank and wide gap give the hook limited flex making the Mustad KVD Elite Short Shank Red Treble Hook a deadly addition to any anglers arsenal.

Comments: I bought 2 11-packs of the #2's. Typical of red hooks, (whether it be Mustad, Owner, Gami, etc) just 4 out of 22 trebles had 3 sharp points on them, most had none (using the fingernail test). After checking a couple I decided to separate the good from the bad (of which 11 are getting returned). I'll sharpen the rest... Why are red hooks so dull? The red #4 Mustad feathered trebles aren't dull, but that's the only exception I've found.
