Comments: I like the functionality of drop shot hooks on such a swivel rig to avoid line twist, allow more motion of a finesse worm, and maintain independence of the line to the weight from the line to the hook. I originally used the VMC Swivel Shot version because I think the v in the bend holds robo worms in place when casting, but it seemed to me I was losing too many fish that were either not hooking up or throwing the hook. I then switched to the Mustad No-Twist version which seems to have a somewhat wider space above the worm with the same size hook and use a bait button to keep the worm in place. I have stuck with the Mustad because I am getting much better hook up and landing rates. I have caught large mouth bass up to 4 lbs 11 oz with no hook or swivel failures. Just keep inspecting the shaft that goes through the eye of the hook because it will sometimes get a bend that needs to be straightened out or may even require a change of hook.

Comments: These are awful! I mean just a terrible design. I expected must more from Mustad. They are frustrating to tie your line to and the swivels don't work very well. Thankfully I only bought one pack. If you want a good no twist/swivel style drop shot hook try VMC spinshot or Gamakatsu Finesse twist free. I especially like the Gamakatsu because you don't have to tie your sinker leader, it just snaps in place the same way many drop shot weights snap in place.

Comments: the hook is good. But the swivel wire that allows it to spin bent and broke while tightening down a knot. cut the swivel off and tie a Palomar.

Comments: This was the first drop shot hook I've ever used and I have to say that I'm hooked on it already. I put 8 lbs mono on my spinning rod with the Z Man Hula Stickz and I have been catching more fish than usual. I even caught a 5.4 lbs largemouth on this setup minutes after I started fishing a local pond. If you are going to get a drop shot hook this is definitely the way to go.

Comments: Easily the best drop shot hooks I've ever used. The swivel above the hook offers a big advantage over other wire-thru, "spin"-type drop shot hooks. The design of this hook allows for the same freedom of movement, but the swivel keeps the hook properly positioned, so that even when your line is nearly horizontal, like when casting into shallow water, or casting from the bank, the bait never hangs at an unnatural angle. I've used these with a number of live and artificial baits to catch largemouth bass, walleye, trout, yellow perch, crappie & bluegill. If you're in an area like mine, where the water is rarely crystal clear, try pairing it with a rattling sinker like Team Davies Ventana Tear Shot Weights, or Lindy Rattlin No Snagg Slip Sinkers. You might be surprised at how much you can catch with a finesse technique in dirty water.
