Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods - $99.99 to $119.99
The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide anglers with the precision of a technique specific rod without the big price tag. Each rod's action and taper are adjusted to perfectly match their specific application, providing the angler with the best possible rod for their given fishing pursuit. The rod blanks are constructed from lightweight IM-8 graphite, which is roughly 45 million modulus for added responsiveness, increased power and reduced weight.
Even strong enough to stand up to braided lines, the ALPS stainless steel Guide Frames with Zirchonium Inserts further ensure strength and durability are maintained. Firmly securing your casting reel, the Fuji ACS Trigger Reel Seat, paired with the split grip handle design, helps with weight reduction as well. Only premium cork is used for the grips, ensuring quality comfort and a classic appeal. The Okuma EVX-A Casting Rods provide every angler with the affordable opportunity to own a quality technique-specific rod.

Comments: I picked up the 7'0"MH EVXa bass rod last spring and paired it up with a Curado 51E and 14-pound fluorocarbon to use as an all-purpose reaction rod for baits such as spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, jerkbaits and even crankbaits - It handles the job well! Although the handle is just slightly longer than what I'm used to and the taper falls some where between a Fast and Medium-Fast, the 7'0"MH EVXa is a surprisingly well-balanced rod, with decent sensitivity and backbone for $90.

Comments: I was a little worried that the action on this rod was too soft. I bought the 6'6" med. model for small, med depth crnkbts. I have caught at least 4 smallmouths (3lbs +) this Spring on the new rod, and the rods performed well. I use a couple of med action spinning rods w/ more backbone than these rods. You cannot move larger fish very well, but when using flourocarbon line you want some give to keep from pulling hooks free from the fish during the fight. I bought this rod at a great price (59.99) this Fall. These rods are very easy on the hands and arms when throwing small crankbaits for 6-8 hours. Super lightweight!!

Comments: I just received the 6'6" medium rod, and I was impressed with the soft case that came w/ the rod; 1st class!! I teamed up the rod w/ a Curado cranking reel so I'm hoping small-light crankbaits will be easy to throw. I'm a little worried that the action on this rod is too light. The last time I used a rod this light, I could not set the hook well because the action was too slow. We'll see???
Comments: I really like the cranbait rod. I was pleasantly surprised at its quality, given the great price. It far exceeded my expectations. I took it out two days after I got it and caught several bass as well as a bunch of saltwater speckled trout who ate my rattletrap all day long.

Comments:I have tried a lot of top end rods and I must say these Okuma's are top end in PERFORMANCE. All my rod & reel combos are going to be Shimano CURADO's & Okuma EVX-A's!!!!
