Okuma Helios Mini Guide Casting Rods - $174.99
The lightest rods Okuma has ever produced - the Okuma Helios Mini Guide Casting Rods start weighing in at just 3.6-ounces. Featuring ultra sensitive 40-ton carbon high-modulus blanks, they transfer sensitivity from the tip to the butt for a difference you can feel. Okuma also stripped all the weight possible out of the split grip handle system by including a PacBay Minima reel seat, EVA grips and eliminating the foregrip. In order to compensate for the reduced weight in the handle system and balance out each rod, premium ALPS mini guides span the entire blank, delivering increased casting distance and accuracy. Zirconium inserts also make them tough enough to stand up to the rigors of braided lines. Lightweight, advanced, and stylish, the Okuma Helios Mini Guide Casting Rods also feature a Fuji EZ moveable hook keeper, which can be positioned anywhere you choose on the rod blank for maximum convenience.

Comments: I work at a tackle store and we sell these rods. This is the number one rod that comes back broke due to just setting the hook. Just a heads up.

Comments: light and sensitive, but rods breaks

Comments: I also broke my rod before I really got to use it very much. I was pulling on a snag, and not very hard. I know not to put too much of a bow in it, and I felt I was not, but POP! it shattered into 3 pieces! The only other rod I have broken was a $30 Berkley AMP. It is too bad, the rod felt nice.

Comments: Very light, pleasure to fish. Broke swinging a 3lb fish in the boat. Won't buy any more.

Comments: To this point this is the absolute best drop shot rod I've ever used ! Very light, sensitive and strong. I highly recommend !

Comments: I would like to relinquish my earlier review of this rod. I caught approx 150 fish on my first Helios before it broke. Probably caught 15 fish over five lbs on it, no problem. Then it snapped in two while trying to pop a crankbait free. Returned it, no problems as they replaced it for free. I had to eat the shipping of course (which is considerable) Snapped my second this past weekedn right down the middle like the last one, while making a cast with a 1/2 ounce crankbait. Unnacceptable. I really was impressed with Okuma's customer service, but I will not be paying another $40 bucks to return it again. Too bad, as I really liked the rod.

Comments: Just picked up a couple flipping rods recently, very light and sensitive, probably the lightest flipping rods out there, taking them to the delta, hopefully they hold up, will update
From: Jammer: Fresno, CA
Comments: Brad the Falcon Cara is a good rod but by no means is it the top end rod. I have owned a couple caras and they were impressive but powell rod co is the best rod brand that i have put in my hands. Try one if you get the chance since they are very comparable in price to the Helios
Comments: These Rods are super-lightweight and sensitive, and I like the Micro-guides which lend themselves to smooth casting. Highly recommended.

Comments: snap two 7'6'' heavy rod.....snap one by pulling on tules too hard and snap it in half...second rod snap by throwing a storm kickin stick 6''....as much as i love this rod jigging, i will give it another try strictly for jigging....rod is super sensitive..
From: Zeng: Stockton, CA
Comments: EXCELLENT ROD!! I purchased the 7ft Medium, and have been very impressed. It is much lighter than my Ducketts rods, and is more sensitive. The 7ft Med, is the perfect squarebill rod, very forgiving, but is super light and accurate. I would say this rod is as good or better than a Cara T7, and as everyone knows Cara's are very top-end rods. Next one I am going to get will be the 7'6" XH. As light as the 7 footer is, their flipping stick has got to be phenomenal.
From: Brad: TX
Comments: I sell these rods at work and everyone who has handled them have been impressed. Light as air and very well engineered. The Heavy and XH would both make great frog rods. The MH looks to be a great jig rod. Nice work Okuma.
