Channeling the strength and power of a Komodo Dragon, the Okuma Komodo Casting Reels have the features and performance you need to attack the water.

Comments: I now own 2 Helios Air baitcasters and one Komodo.  I have to say that Okuma is really putting out quality equipment with weight and performance a main characteristic.  The Komodo is as smooth as my Revo STX's and cast a little further.  I have had this reel for about 3 months and have punished it catching stripers and whites in Texas.  This reel is lightweight as to not fatigue while also possessing the power to turn big fish.  With a 3 year warranty I dont think you can get a better reel.

Comments: I bought this reel from a different site is few weeks ago. When it came to me I opened up the box and reeled with it and it was very noisy and not very smooth. I sent it to Komodo and they said they'd send me a new one. When I got that one it was less smooth and also it sort of vibrates when I reel I am very dissatisfied.

From: Thomas: Lansing, MI

Comments: I was looking for a low gear cranking reel and decided to give this a try as I have 2 Okuma Stratus spinning reels that I absolutely love. Now, I have a cranking reel that I absolutely love. I thought my Lew's Tournament reel was smooth, but this is noticeably smoother. Casts a mile and the easy brake settings mean no backlashes. I'll have to see how it holds up, but with proper care, I think any reel can last and perform for years. Next time I'm in the market for a reel, it will be an Okuma. Maybe another Komodo.

From: K.G.

Comments: I have this in the 5.4-1 ratio and it is very nice. I have 2 Serranos, 1 Helios, and the Komodo. All have been flawless. Also have Lews Tournament Pro, Daiwa TDZ105, Pflueger Asaro, Daiwa CvX, and I fish with the Okumas the most. The Komodo is the smoothest of the bunch too. They are so easy to set up and cast great with virtually no problems even in the wind. Plus they come with very good spool bearings. The lews and Daiwa will pitch farther, but as far as casting goes the Okumas are hard to beat.

Comments: Got me the 7.3:1 LH. this reel is great quite and smooth and light. Its as good as the LEWS reel. If your are thinking about buying it think no more.  Just get it is well worth it

From: Xiong: Milwaukee, WI

Comments: I got this reel in the 5.4:1 gear ratio. I was instantly impressed with the ergonomics of this reel. I have used many reels and this is one of my favorites. I usually upgrade the stock bearings to orange seals from boca bearings, but this reel cast as far as my abu garcia gen3 stx with abec 7's. The brakes are easily adjusted. I set mine with two brakes engaged and cannot backlash this reel. When I cast into the wind I simply move up to 3. This is a great reel for $200 but you can find this reel on eBay for $130 all day long. Excellent value!

From: Derek: Ontario, Canada

Comments: To Brian, all you had to do was tighten down the line return guide on the back side of it, it was probably just loose

Comments: I would like to see the 5:4:1 in lefty as well.

Comments: AMAZING REEL

From: Jeremy: On, Canada

Comments: Please make the 5:4:1 in lefty.

Comments: Follow up to my feedback: I mailed out the reel from MA to CA late on a Friday. The postoffice said they would receive it on the following Friday. The new replacement reel arrived the following Tuesday. I'm very pleased with TW for there attention to this and the speed they performed in returning me a new reel. I'll try to use the replacement soon to determine how well it performs and casts. I hope the new reel stands up better that the first one.

From: Brian: Rehoboth, MA

Comments: Reel work finel after 30 to 50 casts then the line return guide failed and began spooning on the right side of the reel. Spoke to TW rep and they said they would return the reel under warrenty. I guess I'll see how long it takes to get a new reel and how long it holds up.  Right now, I'm very disappointed.

From: Brian: Rehoboth, MA

Comments: This reel is extremely smooth, lightweight, and it casts extremely well (even with the 60lb braid I use). The brakes are extremely sensitive which is a good thing because you can really pinpoint where you want them. The grips are a different feel compared to some of the other baitcasters I own, but I really enjoy the light weight. Havent got to test the drag yet because with the braid I just tighten her up and muscle them in. This is my dedicated frog/flipping reel. Okuma has finally gotten one right! The Mail in rebate took some time, but I love the jersey they provided. Its very lightweight and breathable, but extremely comfy! Thanks Okuma!
