Customer Reviews

Comments: When I first got into bass fishing, I was in college. I was on a tighter budget & didn't have a lot of money to spend on a good set up, but I worked at the university & could fish the fisheries ponds. I bought this reel to learn how to use a bait caster with & it has done me well. Now, after working a lmb farm & other jobs where I could fish every day, I still use this reel. I have burned through a few reels, but my echelon is always on deck rigged and ready to rock. I have used it on H2O rods, All Star, Ugly Sticks, Quantum, Falcon, Calico Jack, Red Bone & everything else. I break a lot of rods, however this guy keeps casting smooth and far. I haven't ever cleaned it. While this is a bragging point on the reel, I am going to clean it now for the first time ever (4+ years) just because I feel bad now. 5 star get this reel!

Comments: I got this reel mainly for jigging and it lasted no time. The reel is extremely clunky and it takes a lot of energy to reel.

Comments: I purchased this reel "pfleuger echelon" a week ago from gander mountain. And after setting the reel up I took it out for several hours, the reel worked great for about 30 min. Then it became hard to reel like it was in a bind and noisy while reeling also. When I would cast the reel sounded like it was going to come apart in my hand and would not cast nearly as far as before. After fishing with the reel a little while longer some how it would straighten its self back out for a short while and then the problems would occur again.  I called warranty services and they had know idea what was causeing the problem, so I will be returning my " pflueger  echelon" back to the store.

Comments: I had the older version of this reel, the red version, and it might have had some plastic parts and been a little cheap feeling but when it came to smooth retrieve and casting it was awesome!!!!!!  even though it had some plastic parts as well it was bulletproof, i don't use it anymore but i still have it and its about 8 years old and works great!!!! Its an awesome low cost reel
