Comments: I have both the 7'6" ML and M for chasing calicos off of San Diego. The medium has more than enough backbone to muscle calicos out of the kelp throwing 2oz slayer heads and bh sledgehammer swimbaits. I mainly use the ML for my spinnerbaits haveing enought backbone to muscle fish away from over but having the lighter action I prefer for reaction baits. Disregard what the last person wrote, these rods were designed for the west coast fishermen not the gulf or the east coast guys they have the RTS for that.

Comments: I recently bought this rod, and I am very disappointed. I bought the 7'6 medium light action rod. The rod is not medium light, it is like a broomstick, and most of the extra length is in the handle. The rod is much heavier than I would have thought. I fish inshore regularly, and prefer my G Lommis to this. I would advise people not to buy this rod. Very displeased in it. It is not at all what it was advertised to be by Phenix. I tested the rod next to several of my others just to make sure it was not a poor first impression, and it would perform. I found this rod has little feeling for the bait, and casts about 80% of the distance. Tackle warehouse does a great job shipping it to me, and I am always pleased with them.
