Comments: I bought the 7'2" Heavy.. Good rod. But for the price, I'm not impressed with the sensitivity. Not saying you can't feel a bite with this rod but its just not what I expected it to be. But on the plus side, this rod loads up really good! The tip has just the right amount of bend to keep the fish loaded & then it hits the backbone just right. I don't think I will buy another M1 but I doubt I get rid of the one I bought. It's a pretty good all around rod

Comments: This is my first rod from Phenix and I'd have to say.... IT'S AWESOME!!! Very light and sensative with a good back bone and lots of power to haul in fish. I have a 7'8 MH Fast action, loving it! Would recommend this rod to some one looking to upgrade. Love the carbon fiber rod seat as well.

Comments: I bought the 7'2"ML for throwing small cranks on Valentine's day 2015. The rod itself felt great and i was able to feel a lot more of what was going on beneath the water than I normally could with my other rods. However, this is the first rod I've ever had break on me under normal weekend use. exactly two months after I bought the rod, it broke into 2 pieces, about 8" down from the tip, while fishing the beds at lake fork.

Comments: I have been fishing with the 7'8" Heavy for awhile now and it can withstand a beating! I've flipped a big jig in Kissimmee grass and bulrush and have caught some big fish doing so. This rod has a soft tip which helps absorb the hookset, but once it hits the backbone you can rip the fish out of the cover. Every Phenix is super sensitive and very lightweight its an all around great rod for the price, I would rate it 10 out of 10.

Comments: 7'2"H, the tip is softer than all others Heavy rods out there, you may even feel like its a MH. GREAT ROD, i use it for pitching and its awesome. This thing IS sensitive and this is coming from someone who is a beginner at this technique. the unusual thing about this rod is the feel of the handle, its high grade cork and its thinner than EVA so you got to get used to it. hook keeper DOES NOT interfere with anything.

Comments: I have the 7'2" H and sad to say. But I like this rod better then my MBX. The tip on the rod is perfect and it is REALLY sensitive. For the price point I would buy this rod without a doubt over any other. Only thing I wish they would change is the hook keeper.

Comments: I've had this rod for about 2 months now, I have fished Dobyns, gloomis, Powell, st croix and kistler. I have to say that Phenix is my favorite rod company now. These rods are light, very durable, strong and have a lower price compared to the other rods that I mentioned. Great for saltwater, I fish for spotted bay bass and I can lift 4lb spottys right out of the water into the boat. Get a Phenix, there the best rods I've used.

Comments: I think some of the bad review are just fake, this M1 feels amazing, it's light, durable, looks great and has a good warranty. I don't know why people are complaining about the hook keeper and that the rod feels cheap? Ignore the bad reviews and just get it. You'll love it!

Comments: I ordered the 7'2 H and it met all my expectations and especially considering the price. A great finish overall and the handle feels great - much better than the Fuji SKS - not to mention looks great. Action is not a real XF according to my standards, however, it is 'quite' Fast, and it feels light and well balanced - less tip heavy than many MH rated rods. For some reason I enjoy picking it up whenever I enter my 'fishing room' and that must be positive!

Comments: I've got 4 of these rods. Two 6'9" and two 7'2", and I have no problems with the hookkeeper poking into my hand. I wear xxl gloves too, so obviously i have very large hands. I do agree, though, it's not in the most convenient location. Other than that, these rods are very nice. The grip is very comfortable, and they are very lightweight. I have quantum smoke 100's and the new quantum energy's mounted on them and they balance really well. The tip is a little stiffer than my recons, which is something i like about them. Pick up a couple. They're worth it.

Comments: To bill the hook keeper does not get in the way at all ... I own the 7'2 medhvy and heavy, and they both are awesome you can really use almost any tech. with these rods..... This is coming from a man who uses Powell, and Cumara's just be ready for the grip it is a little different. I am planning to buy at least 4 more.....

Comments: I recently purchased the m1 from a different retailer because tw doesn't carry the model i was looking for, hint, hint. Either way, in my opinion, ths is a pretty sweet rod. The finish and components are quality. The rod is also very lightweight, and the grip is comfortable. I agree that the hookkeeper could be in a more convenient spot, but it does not interfere with my casting in any way, and i've got rather large hands (xxl gloves). I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this or any of the other phenix models i have...quality rods.

Comments: How do you like that hook hanger poking you in the finger every time you make a cast? Why???
From: Bill: Creston
Comments: Got the 7'2" H. This rod is very impressive! It balances nicely with my Abu Revo however, it is awkward when using my Abu 5600 C3 due to the short handle. That is my only gripe as the handle facilitates low-profile reels and not the regular "round" type of reels. The handle quality itself is very good though. The rod quality is very nice, is very light and is really sensitive. The rod action appears to be a hybrid between extra-fast and fast with plenty of backbone. This model is very versatile as it can be used for chatter-baits/spinnerbaits to plastics/jigs. Tacklewarehouse did an excellent job with the packing and the shipping! Definitely getting more!

Comments: Got the 7'2" MH & the 7'8" H. Unlike the previous comment, I was actually impressed with the components - SIC guides (concept type so smaller than standard but slightly larger than micro) & Fuji reel seats. This rod is very light and may feel "cheap" to some because of that (yes, lighter than GLX). Where they have save costs is the eva handle as opposed to using high grade cork - I prefer cork and this would be my only complaint. For the money, one of the best values I have seen (almost too cheap and makes you a little skeptical). I also have the MBX and this feels a little more balanced and thus as light if not lighter. The medium heavy may slightly be on the lighter side while the heavy is closer to heavy (without being broomstick stiff). I personally don't like the hook keeper below the handle but I can fix that myself. Overall, a very exceptional rod for the money (other than not having the fancy cork handle, I find it comparable to the $250 MBX's).

Comments: Very dissapointed at the components used to build the rod. The reel seat seems very cheap and fragile. Probably another rod built from China.
From: Luis: Bakersfield, CA
Comments: just got the 7' 8" heavy as a replacement for the 77 mh mbx that snapped while swinging a 2 lb bass onto the boat. New rod is incredably light, tip is a little softer than I expected. Threw a half oz. football jig for about an hour the other day, cast & felt pretty good, sensitivity didn't feel super but my hands were pretty cold. Feels like a pretty decent rod hopefully they have improved the durability

Comments: looking into the 7'2"mh for swim jigs, anyone know if this rod is a good setup for this lure.. thanks
Comments: Any reviews on the 7ft8mh or 7ft8heavys yet??? wondering about the sensitivity and balance on the longer rods for jigs....
