Phenix Ultra MBX Classic Spinning Rods

$299.99 - $309.99

The beautifully crafted, high performance Phenix Ultra MBX Classic Spinning Rods expertly blend form with function. Utilizing the entire lineup of the already popular Ultra MBX rods, the Classic Series features exotic Burl wood and French cork incorporated into the rod series' split/no fore-grip handle system. Because of the density of the Burl rings and cork, Phenix was able to perfectly balance the handle without the use of metal or screws. The absence of these inserts also amplifies the sensitivity of the entire rod, allowing even the most subtle bites to transition into the anglers hands. Toray M40J graphite blanks deliver phenomenal lightweight sensitivity and strength to begin with, which coupled with premium Fuji SiC Guides provides consistent performance and excellent castability. Also featuring proprietary ergonomic reel seats, the Phenix Ultra MBX Classic Spinning Rods are truly works of art with the lightweight performance today's bass anglers expect from their rods.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Great dropshot and tube rod. I have the 7'6 Medium and at first I thought it was going to be too stout for dropshot and I was wrong. I hooked up on several fish and it loaded extremely well with a ton of power to move the fish. I would say if you really go small on line size say under 6lb line then it may have too much power but the 6-10lb range this rod really does well. I used this rod with tubes on jig heads and again performed great. Check these rods out they are worth every penny.

Comments: Really great rod with high quality materials put into it. I got the 7 foot medium primarily for bass fishing and paired it with a Shimano Stradic Ci4+. All of the Ultra MBX Classics in spinning are drop shots. I kinda wished they made a jig & worm model or at least have a little more sensitive tip.

Comments: Had the extreme pleasure of meeting Matthew at the Fred Hall show in Del Mar. CA.He was so nice and so helpful more then once when we ran into him on the floor. We really appreciated the time he took to talk to us and share some of his knowledge to help us newbies. He is a very good asset to your company and his customer service was above and beyond. All the guys at the booth were great but Matthew really stood out.Walked away with from your booth happy. Thank you, Sydney :)

Comments: Simply put, this rod is outstanding!  Aside from the fact that it is one of the most gorgeous rods on the market, it is also incredibly light, sensitive, and has power where it counts.  I have the 7' med paired with a 3000 Stradic CI4.  This combo is lighter than air and had enough power to easily handle an 8.5lbs walleye I caught on my last trip to Canada
