Overview

Completely redesigned, the Phenix Ultra Swimbait Classic Casting Rods feature Phenix's phenomenal Hybrid Blank Technology. Using a unique layering process, Phenix was able to create a blank that is completely composed of Woven Carbon Fiber from butt to tip. The result is a rod that is uniformly balanced, super sensitive, unbelievable strong, and extremely lightweight.

The combination of the rods' Cork/EVA Straight Handle and Burl Butt Cap also facilitates optimum balance and leverage, while adding to the aesthetics of the series. Specifically designed to withstand the heavy requirements of casting big baits with spectra, each rod also features premium Fuji Alconite Guides at Concept Spacing for maximum durability, reduced friction and longer casts. Perfectly balanced, the Phenix Ultra Swimbait Classic Casting Rods are also equipped with a premium Fuji Trigger Reel Seat.

Poor Quality ControlI really wanted to purchase more from Phenix. I've been doing a lot of research on rods and Phenix comes up very often. Since it was on sale, it was a perfect time to give them a shot. I was so disappointed. My first Ultra Swimbait rod was missing the last c on the word "Classic", so it just read Classi. The glue on the last guide was cracking and it was pretty bad because I could feel it with my finger nail. Sent the rod back for a replacement and the replacement HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUES. Lastly, I sent them an email with pictures about 2 weeks ago and NO ONE ever got back to me. Very, very disappointed in the Phenix team. Poor quality control and no response from their team. Stay away.

Comments: These are Next Level Sensitivity and Power in the same Rod. The 8Ft Heavy Powered Rod is a Tuna Slayer and I have several +250lbs Bluefin and a 175lbs Yellowfin on this Rod this Summer so anybody questioning Phenix Rod Toughness? This Rod will Kill just about anything that Swims.

Comments: I have this paired with Daiwa Lexa 300 and it works great for calicos, yellow tails and tuna under 50lbs. Works great for sending irons and heavier poppers.

Comments: Great rod, got the 8ft H and the weight specs are spot on and the sensitivity is good. I use it for throwing hudds, gantrels, and glide baits. I have it paired with a Curado 301e. It is a tad heavy but it is tolerable and the craftsmanship is a amazing on this rod, and the styling is very cool. Spend the extra money and get this beast

Comments: I have the 7'11 MH and I love it. Handles 6"-8" swimbaits with ease. Loads nice, looks and feels great. All around good swimbait stick.

From: Justin: Redmond, OR

Comments: First off its a beautiful rod, the foam to cork transition is really nice. Rod parts are top notch and fit and finish work is flawless on this rod. The action of this rod is perfect for throwing med to large swimbaits. I use this rod for snook fishing, I throw the 7in bull shad, huddelston and jigs to 2 oz. This rod handles the 3.5 oz bull shad very nicely with some power left over so the rod doesn't feel over loaded while casting. As a jig rod this rod is not a parabolic as I like but its not designed to do that so its a non issue. I would rate this as one of my favorite rods to throw, its very light and looks particularly nice, this rod also works very well as a large top water plug rod.
