Comments: Update on last review. I traded the 7' Heavy in for a 7'3" MH - the line & lure ratings were the exact same, just got a little more length. 86.25"(7' 2.25") to be exact. But no surprise, their rep told me that before I purchased it, & I was glad it's a little shorter. 7' 2" sounded about perfect for the pitching around weed lines & laydowns that I do. On my postal scale it weighs 4.3 oz & with a Lew's Tournament reel spooled with 17 lb fluoro it weighs 12 oz exactly & is absolutely perfectly balanced. You won't hear things like 'slightly tip heavy' in reviews of this rod. The ratings are spot on & this fishes like a very strong MH, or average heavy power rod. I own many mid to upper mid-range rods & have shopped a great deal of them, including at the Classic, where you can get your hands on pretty much all of them. It would be very hard to get this much rod for the price from any other brand right now IMHO. The grip handle could be a little larger around to be a perfect fit for my medium size hands, but it's not so skinny like the Omens & other new rods out there. I put an Accu-cull grip saver wrap on the cork and that bulked it up a touch & feels about right... I like it! & say to those of you holding out because it says 'Pinnacle' on it, get one during a TW sale & enjoy a great, sharp-looking, sensitive rod that doesn't break the bank.

Comments: I just recieved my DHC5 7' Heavy that I needed for target pitching jigs & beavers around cover. It is an amazing rod, but I already knew this after studying up on it & handling it at the Classic in Tulsa... It is a true heavy power, dead on with the line & lure ratings & fast action is accurate (had the cocker spaniel pulling on a casting plug, stripping line...) It weighs a little over 4 oz which is one of the reasons I returned a Powell Endurance 714cef to swap for this one. The Powell was just over 6 oz & being a 4 power was more like a slightly beefed up medium heavy. Great rod, I just needed heavier action & lighter weight... Since I was kind of digging on the little bit longer (1") length of the Powell, I measured the Pinnacle & dang it, my one knock is that it is 6' 11.5", a half-inch short - I was just hoping for a little exta over 7' if anything... My wife says I'm way to critical. Where does she get this stuff?? I am tickled with the rod - it looks great, obviously quality control is a big priority for Pinnacle. It is perfectly balanced with either a Curado E or Team Lews. Can't wait to get to the local power plant lake soon.............
