The Powell Endurance Umbrella Rig Casting Rod was designed specifically for one of the hottest crazes in bass fishing - the Umbrella Rig. Delivering all the features and performance you need for casting a big, Umbrella rig with ease, and fighting up to five fish at once, the Powell Endurance Umbrella Rig Casting Rod delivers the premium, non-compromising performance that has made Powell a leader in rod building for over 100 years. Powell's proprietary Maximfiber blank technology also offers the superior balance, sensitivity and power that sets Powell Rods apart from the rest.
Smaller, specially designed, premium Fuji Alconite Guides provide many of the advantages of micro guides, facilitating reduced friction, increased casting distance and heightened sensitivity, and they are still large enough to allow most knots and debris to pass through unimpeded. High quality Fuji Reel Seats also help reduce weight, and combined with a split grip, premium cork handle configuration, provide balanced, all-day ergonomic comfort. Make the most of your Umbrella-rig fishing, the Powell Endurance Umbrella Rig Casting Rod is also backed by Powell's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Comments: For all of the questions regarding punching, yes you can use this rod for that technique. I love Powell rods and have used this rod exclusively for punching thick mats. Handles well and the tip really allows you to pump the bait with ease.

Comments: This rod is a monster, I've caught alot of nice 4,5 and 6 lb bass and couple of rockfish over 30 inches and its handled all of them with no problem.

Comments: @Bill I agree. I like the rod too, but don't like the way it handles the big rigs. The tip broke off at the 2nd guide and it handled the weight much better and made casting easier as well.

Comments: I fell in love with this rod. The tip is perfect for big reaction stuff such as A-rigs, big swimjigs, and small swimbaits. The rod has an awesome backbone and I tried pulling double duty with this for flipping but the rod tip is a bit soft and better suited for that reaction bite. If you want to throw your A-rigs on a broom stick this is not for you; however, if you want a nice tip suited for those larger reaction baits I think it works nicely.

Comments: @Noah yes I have actually punched up to a 1.5 oz with this rod. Rather use the 775 Endurance but this one I like for a little lighter flipping like 0.5-1 oz. Hope this helps you with your question. You wont be dissapointed!

Comments: Could this rod with its action double up as a flipping/pitching stick??
From: Noah: Alb, NM
Comments: Perfect rod for the A-rig. Launches the bait and can handle the big ones. Gets a solid hook set every time.
Comments: Great addition to the Powell line. Not just an A rig rod. This rod works as a longer worm rod also.
