Powell Inferno Crankbait and Jerkbait Casting Rods

Burning up the competition on both pricepoint and performance, the Powell Inferno Crankbait and Jerkbait Casting Rods feature glass/composite blanks designed specifically for fishing reaction baits. The lightweight blanks deliver the ideal progressive actions needed to cushion the strike and fight, and keep those tiny treble hooks pinned. The slow actions don’t just help with the hookset and fight, they also allow your baits to perform at their full potential. The increased bend in the rods helps accentuate the baits actions and also facilitates better deflections and pauses. Also equipped with premium mid-micro Fuji guides for increased durability and casting performance, high-grade cork split grip handles deliver all day comfort and balance out each rod perfectly. Next time you want to pick up a crankbait or jerkbait, make sure it’s at the end of a Powell Inferno Crankbait and Jerkbait Casting Rod.

Customer Reviews

Comments: Purchased the 6104CB about a year ago, and have found it hard to put down. i have it matched with a Daiwa tatula 100h & it will really fling light baits. such a versatile rod. i've thrown every thing from finesse spinnerbaits, 1.0 size square bills, stick worms, flukes and small buzzbaits in addition to jerbaits and poppers. my one issue, i snapped an eyelet off and came to find powell was not able to provide a replacement eyelet, but offered to of course warranty it out. seems rather silly to spend 2/3 the price to replace a rod when its just a small fix.

Comments: recently got the 7' rod as a fathers day present. got it for topwaters and crank baits.. little bit too stiff to make a popper walk. but that's ok.. awesome awesome crankbait rod. was throwing a 1.5 squarebill on a lews American hero reel. and I caught about 6 fish with it ranging from 1 lb to 6lbs.. that 6 make a few suges by the boat and I had total confidence in this rod. fantastic buy. really good for ripping your lure free from grass.

Comments: loved the rod... crankbaits & topwater....until I was casting a small crankbait and it broke in the middle!in 20 years ive never had that happen....a month later and the store I bought it at still haven't gotit back....I ordered another one 2 days later...I figured it was a fluke.....I swear to you had it 2 weeks and was casting a RC 2.0 and it broke in same place....TW was awesome and made it right with me...but im scared of Powell!!

Comments: I purchased the 7' Med Hvy rod & can now say my quest for a Crankbait rod that suits my fishing style and conditions is complete. This rod is incredibly light and well balanced matching up with my Quantum Smoke reel like hand in glove. Quality of the cork used for the split grip handle and other components appear to be top notch for the price range. The rod loads and casts it's rated lure sizes with ease. The longer handle fits nicely between forearm and ribcage on the retrieve helping reduce the fatigue often associated with long periods of cranking.

Comments: The handle is too long. I had the original max 704cb and love the handle length, however the inferno is about 2.5" longer. Rod butt gets in the way with jerks and top waters. I would skip this rod if your serious about power fishing and get a 3d max or something with a smaller handle.

Comments: i got the 7' MH and holy cow. I've tried full on glass rods and composites, this rod is amazing. it casts really well, plenty of sensitivity and the bend makes you put every fish on the boat. this is my first powell rod, and i am thinking of getting of the inferno series. it is a really great rod..

Comments: I was in the market for a good jerk/top water rod and came across these here on Tackle Warehouse. I couldn't decide which one I wanted so I bought both. All I can say is they both perform awesome. I paired them both with Lew's Tournament Pros in 6:1 ratio. The 6104CB works awesome for small jerks and Chug Bugs type baits and has already proved it's worth tossing popping baits to tight cover. The 705CB what can I say. In the short time I have owned this rod it has been lights out for 4" to 5" jerkbaits. It's comfortable and I finally found a rod I can fish all day twitching. I can't wait to put a spook on this rod and go wear out the smallies on the river it should have the perfect action for great hookups.

From: Bill: WI 6/23/14

Comments: Great rod for treble hooks, light and well balanced. Just the right amount of tip yet still plenty of backbone
