Powell Max 3D Casting Rods

Powell Rods designed the new Powell Max 3D Casting Rods from the ground up to deliver stunning performance day-in-and-day-out. An evolution of Powell’s popular Endurance and original Max series, they blended the best attributes of the two series with fresh, new cutting-edge technologies to create an all new series of rods.

Brutally strong and incredibly sensitive thanks to specially designed IM-8 graphite blanks, Powell’s engineers were able to use a minimum of material in each blank for extremely lightweight performance with absolutely no compromise in strength. The upgrades don’t stop there. New proprietary Powell Skeletal Reel Seats have all but the necessary material removed as well to deliver a comfortable, lightweight base for your reel and direct access to the rod blank for maximum sensitivity transfer.

Premium Fuji Alconite guides deliver dependable durability, while also maximizing casting performance. High-grade cork handles deliver all day comfort, and Powell also blended in the some of the original Powell Max styling with new coloring for a series of rods that look as good as they fish. Powell has always been known for delivering incredible rods for your hard-earned dollars, and the tradition continues with the new Powell Max 3D Casting Rods.

Customer Reviews

Comments: These rods are great for all types of bassing, wether your flipping or cranking this rod performs the best. If it is possible get the original max and you will have it for decades with no problems. Also great for saltwater spotties

From: Gavin: Newport Beach 12/28/16

Comments: Not pretty but very stealthy if ya think that makes a difference. I got the 8ft punching rod, didn't know what to think at first till I started catching bass on it. Perfectly balanced, strong & sensitive! Blows higher prices Rods out of the water! I'm a convert. I have five different flipping & this is my go to. Will be buying more.

From: Jonny: Lakeside, CA 7/30/16

Comments: 714 is a very special rod for me personally. Typically in open water situation, making long casts I would fish vibrating jigs on 755 CB, however when I am fishing places like CA Delta - accuracy is a must & I make a lot more short to medium distance casts. That's when I pick up my Powell 714, spooled up with 15lb Seaguar Tatsu Fluorocarbon on 6.4:1 Abu Garcia Revo Premier! I think 80% or more of the fish I weighted in the tournaments this and last year came on this set up, including my PB 9.2lb that came out of Clear Lake. If you like to fish vibrating jigs, get yourself 714 & 755 CB and you will never look back!

From: Igor: San Francisco, CA 6/27/16

Comments: I had a couple Abu and shimano rods until I got into denali. I switched over completely to the kovert, roosewood, and j2. I tried my coanglers Powell and couldn't believe how heavy and unbalanced it made all my rods feel. I couldn't go back to mine so I am switching over. The 775 mag flipping stick is light than my denali 6'8" kovert! Highly highly recommend Powell. And they have a great warranty if you need it, which I never have.

From: Trevor: MN 8/18/15

Comments: Love the 734 for multiple applications. The rod is very sensitive & has a great feel when used for carolina rigging. The only complaint I have is that the clear coat has chipped off around the logo portion of the rod.

From: GP: ID 8/18/15

Comments: I bought this or fished withit and first little bass snapped it it's a great looking feeling & great until you get a fish on it I went to a denali & it has never fails me

From: Will: Hoover, AL 7/16/15

Comments: Absolutely LOVE this 7'1" heavy Rod!!! I paired it with a Lew's BB1 Pro Speed Spool. Look's amazing and the weight is incredibly light, Great Backbone and very sensitive. I would suggest this set up to anybody who wants quality at the highest level.

From: Joseph: Toledo Bend, TX 7/7/15

Comments: Just tried out my new 734 this past weekend and was amazed. The rod is so sensitive it felt like someone was slapping me on the wrist when I got a bite. The rod is balanced very well and unbelievably light. Powell did an amazing job on these rods! Great customer service also. I broke a rod last month and they took great care of me and I had a new replacement rod in no time!

From: Chad: Santa Rosa, CA

From: Jayson: Atkinson, NH 12/20/14

Comments: Got the 734. Feels a lot better than the 734 max which was really tip heavy. Has that endurance feel. Wish it had that endurance look. Looks aren't everything but this rod is ugly. OLIVE GREEN...seriously!
