Powell Max Casting Rods
Pitching and chucking blades and senkos into small pockets. Running buzzbaits and walking spooks over grass beds and fishing long-leader Carolina rigs in deep water. With these types of presentations you need a rod with the right amount of forgiveness, allowing the fish to inhale the bait with less resistance. Not only does this series deliver that, but they also provide the hook setting power necessary when and where you need it most. The rods come in various lengths and line ratings suitable for many different scenarios. Each Powell Rod also comes equipped with a hook keeper on the blank that protects the reels from getting damaged and allows you to be more efficient.

Comments: The Powell Rods are the best, lightest, most sensitivite rods I have ever used. I have been tournament fishing for 20+ years and I need a rod that will be there day after day, that rod is a Powell.
From: James: Madison, FL
Comments: This is the finest feeling rod that I have ever had. Sensitive, light and great action. And I might say tough. Great workmanship. This is the best rod for any price.
From: Frank: Tucson, AZ
Comments: I've been fishing for over 20 years and I have never heard of Powell rods ever until I found this website. I'm really picky about my rods and prefer to hold the rod in my hand before I make a purchase. Jig-n-pig fishing is my favorite way to fish for bass and the Powell 704 had soo many positve reviews that I was leaning towards purchasing this rod without ever seeing it or holding it! The other rod I seriously considered was the new Shimano Crucial. After two weeks of ALOT of research, I bit the bullet and bought the Powell 704. All I can say it is a fine rod. It's just as light as the BPS Carbon Lite if not lighter! TWH did a nice job of packing the rod as well! The tip was bubble wrapped to keep it from breaking during the shipment. Just like the many other review for this rod, it's highly recommended!!!

Comments: The Powell Company, in my opinion, has the best rod value on the market. Every Powell rod in my rod locker is outstanding! I have an 804CEF that I use for FB Jigs and it is a dream. The great advantage of the Powell rod is they don't eat up your stick with handle length. They give you as much rod as possible not a bunch of handle that hangs up in your coat, shirt or whatever.

Comments: I have many great setups! And i have to say! If you are looking for a nice rod to start out with! I would highly recommend Powell Max. I have 3 Powell Casting Rod 7' Med Hvy EF 703C rods and i have to admit, It feels just as good to me as a GL3 and a GLX, plus LEGEND Elites, Zillions, Cumaras, and so forth... Don't get fooled by the price of these rods because at the end...its not what rod and price you paid and have...but its on how you use it! Powell Max gets my Credit. 9.5 out of 10
Pros: Very light and sensitive rod. (A) Grade craftsmanship. Looks phenomenal with the Curado reels, and they are also Very sensitive! Lastly, nice that they have a rod for each and every technique that is known to bass!
Cons: Butt handle is a little shorter then others rods whether you get the 6'9 or 7'4.

Comments: Awsome rods!

Comments: let's just say this: as my loomis rods break or I get tired of them, I will be switching to these.
From: Wangchung
Comments: i bought the 703 a few weeks ago, beautiful rod, handles fish great, very sensitive, i use it for throwing wacky, and senkos and performs flawlessly, have it paired with a curado 50 with 10 lb. fluoro and it's just money!
From: Steve-o: Atascadero, CA
Comments: I cannot recommend these rods enough. I have four of these rods, the 703, 704, 765, and the 805. All of these rods are very sensitive, extremely light, and have plenty of back bone to get those big fish in. I will be buying more in the future.
From: Walker: Knoxville
Comments: Incredible Rods!! I own 4 of the Max series (683C, 703C, 704C, & 733) and each one handles amazingly. I set each one up with a Revo STX and they are incredible. I also have the 7' glass cranking rod and the glass spook rod. Both of these are unbelievably light and sensitive for glass. These rods are the first Powell's that I've owned but they definitely won't be the last.
From: Bryan: Birmingham, AL
Comments: I scooped up a 6'8" Med Hvy EF 683C and I love it. I use it for plastics, mostly texas rigs, but its a good senko and fluke rod.

Comments: Greetings from Spain ... I have several rods Powell and are undoubtedly a very good choice of rods, the best in value for money. It just paying more for less. 4 more will fall soon,

Comments: I was a little worried when I ordered this Powell 703 Rod. I had never even held one. I bought it sight unseen. i am so GLAD I did. It is one of the best Rods I ever fished. The Quality is awsome and the feel is perfect. You will not beat a Powell Rods for the price, heck you might not beat it even if you go over the price......
From: Kevin: Louisiana, USA
Comments: One of the best rod out there today. I just bought the 703c and paired it with my curado 51e and man what a light combo. took it for a test today and i already caught a 6 pounder and 4 pounder bass. very light and sensitive it even weigh less than the shimano cumara reaction 7MH by just .1oz
From: Hmong: Elk Grove, CA
Comments: Best rod that i have ever used. I use the 703C paired with a Shimano Curada for jig fishing around rocks. Can't beat the feel of these rods. First tournament i used it on Tellico we had 19 pounds!!! great rods well worth the price.
From: Alex: Knoxville, TN
Comments: These rods just seem to be unreal. i have three of them and had nothing but positive things to say about them. they are light, balanced, and even have strong back bone. In my opinion they are better than G loomis's 300 dollar plus rods. Do your self a favor buy three or four of them. You will not regret it.
From: Bill: TN
Comments: Of the twelve Powell I have, three are the 683C, 703C and 734C. I use for soft-jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and pitching finesse baits, respectively. The next is the 704C, because I love these rods. ÁUn abrazo!
From: Koletas: Spain
Comments: Wow! A quality product (spinning and casting) with me in mind.
From: Rex: Lagrange, GA
Comments: I sold all of my Loomis GLXs last year, bought a full arsenal of Powell Casting (2 764's, 804, 703G, 754G) and Spinning (733, 702) and still had money left over. These rods may represent one of the "best for the money" deals out there today.
From: Jlo: Somewhere in Ohio
Comments: I have a few Powell rods. My favorite is the 702. I have rigged it with a Revo Priemier and 8 lb Viscious flouro and use it mainly for shakey heads. It works great!

Comments:I have the Powell Max 733, it is the most versatile rod that I have used, and I have tried a lot. It is sensitive, light, powerful and elegant, the perfect rod for all techniques: Texas, Carolina, heavy down shot, jigs, flukes, senkos....
From:Carlos: Spain
Comments:Guys, fishing is a way of life for me and my family. We travel many miles and fish many tournaments each year. I switch out my gear every two seasons. I decided to give Powell a try and these rods are what I have been looking for all my life. I can't tell you how awesome these rods are. The actions, workmanship, simplicity, blah, blah.....it's all there. They are everything you will ever want in a rod. I have fished with everything out there at one time or another. These rods are on par with any top end rod I have ever fished with....regardless of manufacturer. Without question, the best buy in the industry today. You owe it to yourself to at least try one of these rods and have your eyes opened.
From:Rich: USA
Comments:I just recently had a trip to Pickwick with the 704CEF. Outstanding in the deep water with football jigs. It was very sensitive and with the jig and fluorocarbon I was able to tell every twig, rock and gravel bed I came across. Keith recommended it and he was exactly right. I now have the 704C, 765MH, 805MH, 705 Glass, 703 Glass and the 683 Spinning rods. By far the best rods I've used especially for the money. Thanks Powell and TW!
From:Gus: Brandon, MS
Comments:I bought the 7'11" Swimbait Rod (5-8oz, 1-piece Model) and with my Calcutta conquest 201 its a very nice combo for swimbaits from 2-6oz like a silent killer, bbz-1 8"FS or a lucky craft real California 200. Baits over 5.5oz are not too heavy for the rod, baits over 6.5oz are impossible to cast!
From:Benjamin: Zurich, Switzerland
Comments:Great rod!!! Very sensitive and plenty of backbone! I will be buying Powells from now on.
From:Grant: USA
Comments:First off I will say that the Powell line is by far the best rod for the $ hands down! I have the 766H, 765MH, 735MH, 704C, 705C and the 683C. The 705C is by far my favorite of them all. The sensitivity is amazing on these rods. I sold all my Kistlers and Shimanos for these! Do yourself a favor and buy a few!
From:Luis: Florida, USA
Comments:Compared to MBR843C this rod feels lighter. I use it for flukes and weightless plastics and sometimes Texas rigs. I think that is were it excels however for me the tip is too whippy for s/b greater than 3/8oz. I love the detail of the rod and the backbone will suprise you so don't be afraid to throw a buzzbait or two. I have the 703c 1/4 to 3/4oz. I looked at some carrot sticks and the quality is so much more defined. I am using a curado D with 12lb berkley 100% floro. I would refer anyone to buy this rod. I was tired of the norm and thought I'd buy something out the box. It is very versitle rod that has the spine to control the fish without issue.
