The Powell Max Composite Deep Cranking Casting Rod was designed by Elite Series pro and Tackle Warehouse prostaffer, Jared Lintner, for fishing crankbaits that run a minimum of 8ft in depth - all the way to the biggest, deepest diving crankbaits you can find. Its composite glass and graphite blank offers the sensitivity of graphite with the parabolic, moderate-fast bend you need for fishing crankbaits. Most crankbait rods max out just from the action and drag of a deep diver, but Lintner and Powell designed this one to have just the right bend to fish a deep diver properly, and still have enough in reserve to hook and fight the fish. Stout but super forgiving, it allows you to really make solid hooksets and suction those treble hooks into the fish.
Its parabolic bend also helps you cast your bait a mile, which is very important when fishing deep diving crankbaits, because it takes a while for them to get down into the strike zone. Another important feature, it is also very light for being such a big rod, which is not usually the case. You can fish it all day and not wear yourself out. Comments: The very best cranking rod you could ask for. Not only can it handle deep divers, but it can also toss lighter crankbaits a mile. The first thing you notice when you pick it up is how surprisingly light it is and balances nicely with a lightweight low profile reel. This was my first Powell rod and I will be buying more.

Comments: very light for its size. slightly softer action than my 8' powell crank rod (same line class). fished it for the first on LSC this, i put 14# braid on this to cast long distances crosswind on big water and landed all 5 fish i hooked on a very inactive bite (2 didnt even hook in the mouth). handled SK #5s very well. even landed a double. KVD tripple grips probably helped on that, but didnt pull any hooks even with the braid. i would highly recommend this rod!
